Spin class 1:00:00 [3]

Paul and I dragged ourselves off the couch/out of the LazyBoy. It must be the beginning of the New Year as 5 people had to be turned away from the class, so many showed up. So we had to work extra hard to prove that we deserved to be there. Or something like that.
Mostly intervals tonight.....mostly sitting but some standing. There are 3 hills near Hastings MI that I need to conquer this year......so I must keep pedalling.

Jogging (Trail) 2:00:00 [3] 13.84 km (8:40 / km)
shoes: Speed Cross

Silver Lake - Pinckey State Rec Area
When W4J said that their POCAR team was going to do a long run today, I took it as an opportunity to spend some time on the trails too. Knowing that they are all 'way faster than me, I planned on being the safety sweep for an hour or so, then striking off on my own, heading back to the starting point at my own pace. We jogged the flats, hiked up the hills, and did the downhills at something faster than a jog. I used poles, and only tried to single-kick-double-pole twice :)
At Patterson Road, they continued north and I headed west to the trail back south. Then I took the "shortcut" past the yurt, and back on the trail we had been on (heading the wrong way...but there weren't many (1) mountain bikers out there). I took the trail up to the "overlook", and when 2 hours were up, switched to hiking.

Trekking (Trail) 27:00 [3] 2.3 km (11:44 / km)
shoes: Speed Cross

Hiked back to the parking lot.
The ski trail signs were taunting me.
Knees were happy.
Did a half decent stretching session before getting in the vehicle, and some more when I stopped to get gas.

Trekking warm up/down 5:00 [2]
shoes: Hoka

Jogging (Mostly paved ) 35:00 [3] 4.5 km (7:47 / km)
shoes: Hoka

Wind is from every direction! MEC windproof pants did their job. Jogged down to park, up and down a couple extra hills. Down to Mettawas condos and back up to Greenway, north on Wigle. Snowflakes everywhere!

Trekking warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: Hoka

And then a good stretching session when I got home.

Gym time 30:00 [3]

Hamstrings, inner/outer thighs, upper body with free weights (including some "double poling" exercises.....maybe? someday?), lower back, and those bleepin' sliders. Maybe not quite as bad as the first time? Could it be true?

Hill Work (Treadmill) 16:00 [3]

Put it up to 15% slope and walked at 22 minutes per mile. Oops, gym closed at 4 pm today, so didn't go as long as I planned.
