Spin class 1:00:00 [3]

Highlights include 5 x 1 minute intervals with a minute vertical jog in between and 3 x 2 minute intervals.

Note

Yes, curling involves some muscles not normally used for biking and whatever else I do.

Spent a few hours today tidying up the gardens and the yard. Just as we seem to collect stray cats, we seem to collect stray leaves. There is a disproportionate quantity of oak leaves huddled in the flower beds, compared to the number of oak trees on our property. And we do not have a horse chestnut, so why do those leaves end up chez nous?

Jogging (Pavement) 18:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

The wind was to drop down as the evening progressed, so that seemed like a good reason to delay my daily mile (and a half) until well after supper.
At least this gives me a good chance to stretch and roll out the hamstrings each day.

Jogging 14:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

So I committed myself to one of those Run Every Day in December challenges. Even when semi-seriously training for a running event, I find it best if I run 2-3 times per week. So this is a bit out of character for me. However, committing to running at least a mile every day in this dark month ought to be good for me in some way...... mentally, if not physically.

This was a figure 8 around the 2 blocks behind our house between supper and my Friday night activity.

'Cross training' (Curling) 30:00 [1]

And this was a first for me. The small curling club in town offers a Friday night drop in curling session. Classic rock blasting, drinks (not Gatorade), French fries and chicken burgers......and 2 solid hours of sliding 42 lb chunks of marble down a pebbled ice surface and scrubbing the ice in front of the chunk of rock, trying to figure out if the guy or gal at the other end is yelling at me to scrub harder or quit.

In all seriousness, it was very enjoyable and my heart rate was elevated a few times, at least in part to the perceived pressure of being the one throwing the rock or doing the sweeping. Everyone has warned me I will be sore.....but I do hope I can do it again next week.

Feeling better! That was odd.....I haven't had a headache in years and haven't felt under the weather in ages (other than the suspected food poisoning incident this spring).
