XC Skiing (Greenway) 1:28:00 [3] 5.0 mi (3.4 mph)

Woo hoo! My local ski buddy D started a FB group for XC skiing in Essex County. We put out an appeal yesterday morning to see who wanted to go skiing this morning before the rain started (the joys of living in the Deep South/banana belt). No one responded, perhaps because we wanted to set off at 8 am on a Saturday morning. But we chose that time due to the prediction of rain.
An absolutely wonderful ski east from Harrow on the Greenway. Last night's fresh snow was only disturbed by squirrel tracks, and we broke our own trails out to the Ferris side road, then got to ski in them on the way back. In the last km or less, we met 4 people merrily walking in our tracks, and one $@#$%@ just kept walking towards me in my track and actually stopped in front of me, expecting me to step aside. There may be a random notice in the local paper next week "As a courtesy, please don't walk in the ski tracks. And please don't be a dick and stand in them as a skier is coming towards you" (and you thought Canadians were polite LOL).
But other than that, just a wonderful ski. My new double layer WrightSocks really helped with the rubbing on my heels (halleluia!) but poor D wore something other than her usual merino socks so had to stop to apply my spare blister bandaids 3/4 of the way back.
Of course, when you are in Harrow in the morning, you need to go to Danielle's for breakfast. And it was raining when we came out, so we were very happy with our timing.

Gym time 40:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

Warmed up with 5 minutes on Jacob's Ladder. Steady progression through a range of exercises involving bosu ball, medicine ball and weights. Balance and power moves. Then a humbling set of reps on the nasty hamstring machine.

Jogging (Pavement) 15:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

And the freezing rain is here. I literally skated across the gym parking lot. The town sidewalks were cleared and salted this morning so they were slightly better than the streets. Watched several cars slide through stop signs on my penguin-like shuffle home.
It is a stay-at-home night!

Jogging 13:16 [3] 1.85 km (7:10 / km)
shoes: Hoka

A balmy -12 C windchill!

Then we put up the Christmas lights. We are quite likely the last ones in town to do so!

Jogging 16:00 [3] 1.4 mi (11:26 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

No stops for pictures tonight. Brrr

Rollers 20:00 [3]

Not surprisingly, I got a little rusty since the last session but did not hang on to the wall for dear life the whole time.
No slacking off nor coasting so it is a steady workout for me. 10 minutes pedalling, pause to get a drink, then 10 more. Apparently once you are good at this you can reach down and get your water bottle and not fall off. That isn't me yet. Got a little warm despite being in the unheated bunkie.

Jogging 26:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

-16C wind chill so I was surprised I went as far/long as I did. My funky red leopard print leggings are surprisingly warm over my usual tights.

Spin class 55:00 [3]

That was a hard one. Lots of intervals and standing climbs.

Jogging (Pavement) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

Down to the lake, around the park, and back. Tiptoed a bit along the waterfront as it was rather slippery.
Almost a full moon and a shooting star.

Jogging (Pavement) 17:00 [3]
shoes: Speed Cross

This Run Every Day hasn't killed me yet, surprisingly.

Hockey 35:00 [3]

Played with 3 D tonight so there was extra ice time for us blue liners.

XC Skiing (Greenway) 42:00 [3] 2.8 mi (4.0 mph)

Woo hoo!
I parked at the curling club and skied west on the Greenway. There is enough shelter through there that the snow was staying put, so was more than adequate for skiing.
A few cardinals, blue jays and juncos escorted me along the trail.

Jogging (Snowy streets) 19:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

I don't know why I put the Hokas on. Speedcross would've been smarter!
Getting close to 6" snow by supper time, so it was a bit of a slog on the un-cleared sidewalks.
