Saturday Feb 23 #

Spin class 2:15:00 [3]

Yes, over 2 hours on the bike inside. But this was a special occasion. It was an annual fundraiser at our gym for a local cause. One of our Banded Goose peeps put a lot of work into creating a video/music presentation. It started with some Tour de France footage, some climbs in the Alps, then another climb in the Alps filmed by Charlie himself. Oh the switchbacks! Then some Dirty Kanza footage including some stills that I sent him. Finally a UCI mountain bike race in Italy that climbed a ski hill then descended on some very sketchy single track. The whole thing was awesome!

Now to taper for next Saturday's Dirty Pecan.

Friday Feb 22 #

Adventure Bike (Gravel) 1:05:00 [3] 14.5 mi (13.4 mph)

My first after work ride. Back roads SE of Blenheim. Very pleasant ride, finishing in the dark after a nice sunset (I had my lights) .

Thursday Feb 21 #

Gym time (Boot camp) 55:00 [3]

Sumo lifts and overhead lifts. Then a circuit of exercises done in pairs that fatigued each muscle group. Humbled again.

Spin class 55:00 [3]

A lot of standing at high cadence.

Wednesday Feb 20 #

Gym time (HIIT class) 55:00 [3]

A make-up class for the one I missed last week. Jumping lunges are humbling.

Tuesday Feb 19 #

Gym time (Boot camp) 55:00 [3]

Some TRX, some dumb bells, some stability ball work.

Monday Feb 18 #

Trekking 1:07:00 [3] 4.55 mi (14:43 / mi)

It was unexpectedly sunny! I jogged the clear bits of pavement and walked the snowy/icy bits. Plus a couple passes on the hills at the park.

Sunday Feb 17 #

Yoga (Yin yoga) 1:15:00 [1]

Hips, hamstrings and ankles all appreciated the good stretches.

Adventure Bike 2:00:00 [3] 21.8 mi (10.9 mph)

Rail trail to Leamington. There were a few icy patches and still a couple glaciers to portage. I had planned to ride to the Point but a snow globe set in. Between reduced visibility and a sudden accumulation of snow, I decided to loop around the rail trail in Leamington and head back. Only now the icy patches were covered (hidden) with snow. I did a slow-mo wipe out on the rail trail and did an impressive recovery after a fish tailing episode (IMHO).

I had a bunch of ski gear on so I was warm enough. I just knew I shouldn't go to into a convenience store with my ski goggles/helmet/neoprene face cover.....even I looked a bit scary.

Hockey 35:00 [3]

Short handed game so lots of ice time.
8 players had gone to Detroit to watch the USA/Canada women's game. 2 had such a good time they couldn't make it to our game.
