Adventure Bike (Gravel, pavement) 4:18:00 [3] 50.35 mi (11.7 mph)

One Helluva Ride - Chelsea, MI

A fellow Banded Goose rider recommended this event to Paul and I. An hour and a half from our place (easy border crossing early on Saturday morning with Nexus card) - and we were parked and unloading at the Chelsea Fairgrounds. We did the 42 mile gravel route, but on Jeff's advisement, added in the Big Kame and Green Lake loops of the DTE single track. That was super fun. The gravel on the rest of the course (following much of the Waterloo Grit and Gravel course) wasn't fast.....there was sandy gravel and gravelly sand. In fact, the course was firmer/faster when we have ridden it in November or February in the past. The shady sections were nice, and we didn't complain about head winds on this very hot day.
Food and watermelon at the finish, water and snacks at aid stations.....well marked course (we didn't load it in our Garmins)......a great event!

Gravel Bike (Gravel / rail trail/pavé) 1:55:00 [3] 25.5 mi (13.3 mph)

Paul and I did our own ride then joined the other Banded Goose riders for a beverage. They were complaining about the heat. Huh?

Gym time (Boot Camp) 55:00 [3]

A sweaty one.....apologies to my coworker in the desk beside me. For the first time, I tried the rope climb and made it half way up the first two times....and a third on the 3rd try. Boxing. Bikes. Flipping tires. Pulling a weighted sled (I would suck as a sled dog). Sprints.

Trekking (pavement, dirt) 1:00:00 [3] 3.95 mi (15:11 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

Balmertown. The air is much clearer this morning. Some jogging, some hiking. Streets, ATV trail, cemetery....... A woman in a pickup pulled over on the side of the highway when I was on the ATV trail, warning me of a bear up ahead. I am not in KIngsville :)

'Cross training' (Golfing) 2:00:00 [2]

Back 9 at the Red Lake Golf and Country Club. The air was clear!

I rented clubs for these two golf outings. I'm a lefty and woman's left handed clubs can be hard to find. Paul suggested I play right handed (!?!) but I opted for a set of men's left handed clubs. Best rounds of golf ever. And you can imagine that they were a bit long for me. These were "fancy" clubs with carbon shafts. Yup, that makes a difference over my ol' sticks.
