Spin class 50:00 [3]

Resistance.....and intervals. Checking all the boxes.
12 PM

Jogging (snowy trails) 3:45:00 [3] 26.0 km (8:39 / km)
shoes: New blue

Very windy day, so I hid in the trees at Point Pelee. I parked at the marsh boardwalk, then took the seasonal footpath north to the first parking lot, then the multiuse trail back to the car. Ditched the wind pants (which I regretted for about 5 minutes later on when out in a relatively open area). Someone had skied on the Centennial trail south from the marsh.....and I was kicking myself for not bringing my skis. But within a klick or so, the snow diminished and although there wasn't enough to ski, it was still nice and snowy....but not icy! There must have been just a bit of a snow streamer that hit the north end of the park. I took a lot of the trails to try to get the desired distance in, but the one south of the visitors centre is still closed for the eastern portion due to flooding. Lots of waves at the Tip. Then I had a tailwind as I shuffled up the seasonal trail on the west side. To get to my desired distance, I went almost up to the front gate and back....again.
Saw a flock of robins.....there are usually a few that winter at the park.

Are we there yet?

Gym time (weights) 25:00 [3]

An abbreviated version of what we've been doing at boot camp (I was working at another location today so missed out). Fewer reps, more weight.

Spin class 55:00 [3]

Different gym, different bikes (really nice ones!) and a spirited instructor. Excellent class. I will pass the info along to our usual spin instructor (same chain of gyms).

Jogging (Streets) 36:00 [3] 3.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: New blue

Once I got out the door, it was a very pleasant night for a jog around town.

Spin class 50:00 [3]

Sustained resistance. The instructor called it hill climbing.....I thought of it as mud or snow.

No boot camp due to USDA report.....then I opted to install a new wifi router rather that doing it after spin class. And figured out that my slow work laptop performance at home is NOT due to our internet speed/router capabilities. .

Fat Biking (snowy path and fresh snow) 3:30:00 [4] 24.0 mi (8:45 / mi)

That was a slog. Took the Greenway east, and it was fairly well travelled/bumpily packed down until Ruthven. Then I was rolling through a couple inches of snow....nice! The trail along the 3rd concession had a solid 3-4" snow on it...First tracks! Then I rolled down the trails to the lake in Leamington, toured the harbour/beach, then retraced my tracks back home.
As I was slogging away in the snow heading home, I could hear voices behind me, then bike brakes (on the paved road that I was riding alongside). I wondered if it was a group of migrant workers, as I had met a couple out and about in town. Nope, it was the Cycle Culture group out for one of their winter challenge rides. Somehow the leader recognized me and called me by name, despite my bulky layers/buff/sunglasses. I didn't have a lot of spare breath for chatting.........then they sped away on their skinny tire (well, relatively so) bikes on the pavement.
I figure that was worth 50 miles of gravel bike riding. Ough.

Hockey 25:00 [3]

Back at it after missing a couple weeks (one due to an early wake up call, one because there are no games scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday). Good skate.
0 for the night.
