Note
I didn't make it to the double header O-meet. I had the car packed, my bike loaded up and ready to ride on part of the GNR route we skipped due to rain back in the summer.....but I got the call (text) to help out with what turned out to be the last day of corn harvest at my family's farm. So glad to get it done before the 90 km/hr winds hit those corn fields. The woods looked very nice along the second farm we were harvesting. I found out later than the local Scout troup used to camp back in there. Hmmmm.....something to keep in mind for future considerations.
I couldn't find my thumb compass when packing up, but had a couple other compasses packed and ready to go. Then in the evening when it got cooler, I put on an old coat I use for messing around in the woods....and there was my thumb compass and a roll of flagging tape. I guess the last time I used it was for Maybury Mayhem last December. Such is 2020.
