Got a new cassette on the Warbird.......and now it doesn't randomly skip gears.

Fat Biking (skate ski area) 1:42:00 [3] 11.31 mi (9:01 / mi)
shoes: Studded tires

My first time at Hardwood Hills. Since it was a weekday, biking on the skate ski tracks was permitted. It was a wonderful ride. I did push my bike down a couple hills that looked a bit sketchy ... and pushed it up a few more that were beyond the capacity of my flatlander legs.
I did venture onto the single track at the end, but it wasn't packed down as much and the snow was 'way too soft. Fat bikers are so finicky lol.

Monday Mar 15 #

Fat Biking (single track) 1:10:00 [3] 4.99 mi (14:02 / mi)

The best fat bike riding of the year. Sweet!

Trekking (street/trails) 1:15:00 [3] 3.4 mi (22:03 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Xodus trail

Hiked in a couple sweet parks, jogging the streets between them.

Sunday Mar 14 #

Fat Biking (multiuse trail) 2:00:00 [3] 11.64 mi (10:19 / mi)
shoes: Studded tires

Frosty riding. From the ski hill to downtown, along Lake Ramsey and a loop around Science North. The sun was glorious. It is so neat that there are little bits of "wilderness" with rocks and trees tucked throughout the city.

Trekking (trail) 1:30:00 [3] 3.3 mi (27:16 / mi)

Microspikes for me and new Yaktraks for Milton did the trick for the icy trails at Kivi Park. Oh how I love that place. Such glorious views from the top(s). They have pairs of Muskoka chairs at several vantage points.

The ski season finished at Kivi and at Laurentian on Thursday or Friday. That's pretty early. There is still skate skiing at Windy Lake, but the classic tracks have been left to their own (icy) devices.

The next day, the hiking trails were closed......likely because they were so treacherous.
