Wow - that was hard! First hour was okay and then it got hard. From aid station # 2 at 7 miles I was just focused on getting to the next aid station at 14 miles. After that aid station there were 2, 7-mile loops. Total focus was to just run the first loop well and I did that. I didn't know how I was going to get through the second loop but just focused on running in the moment and although I suffered very hard I got through it and ran very well. The last 3 miles were super rough - my hamstrings were cramping and it got pretty ugly.
I the future I should try to avoid racing a 8km and a 50km two weeks apart. The lack of super long runs really hurt me today.
