Around the Bay 30km (43:49, 43:28, 43:08).

I was really not looking forward to this race - mileage on pavement (and in general) has been lacking, my past performance at longer distances have been rough, everyone in the house had been sick the week leading up and I woke up Saturday feeling sick, blah, blah, blah.

Anyway I knew I needed to face my demons and just run and get out what I had on the day.

It ended up being a very positive experience and something I can build on. I went out super easy for the first 10km. At 10km I felt great but just stayed patient. At 20km I was rolling by people and I started to compete and look up and work to catch people.

At no point was this hard in terms of breathing or even maintaining pace but my legs just got more and more beat down.

Big takeaways:

- run more on pavement
- go out super easy and just run
