Bearsden by road. Quiet and chilled, with a touch of plod.

Few days of big hills in the Lakes with Ali, kicking it off with a scramble up a claggy Blencathra. All very good fun though, apart from maybe one small section of uphill bracken bashing, and thoroughly enjoyed watching Ali get ruined on half a pint afterwards.

Road Running warm up/down 13:39 [2] 2.99 km (4:34 / km) +25m 4:23 / km

Thought I was cutting it a bit fine, but start was delayed anyway due to a wasps nest right at the start line, so it was all chill in the end.

Trail Running 18:20 [4] 4.84 km (3:47 / km) +122m 3:22 / km

Rain forecasted all day and so doing the parkrun seemed like a good way to get things done, even if I was still feeling quite tired from a week of grand tourismo, so headed down to the local for a nice few hilly and muddy laps at Drumchapel. Bit lonely outfront, but I like the course and everyone is super friendly, so I have no regrets despite it turning out be a lovely sunny day.

Legs feeling similar to yesterday, but will do anything for those sweet sweet tranquil morning views over the city.

Saw a group of lads in the park going strong on the 9am beer but still all looking surprisingly fresh. Unclear if they'd powered through the night or were getting on it early - either way it was simultaneously very impressive and worrying. Thought about this a lot for the rest of the run.

Road Running 38:39 [2] 8.23 km (4:42 / km) +1m 4:42 / km
ahr:165 max:202 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Scared by yesterdays Old-Town-getting-lost debacle, kept it simple out and back along the river. Legs dead from some days of big walking miles, so set off at ultra-plod pace but did feel better by the return leg.

8 AM

Road Running 50:10 [2] 9.93 km (5:03 / km) +160m 4:41 / km
ahr:146 max:165 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Went the castle, which was okay, and a park, which was also okay, before giving the old internal compass a bit of a workout by getting lost in the old town.

Road Running 56:14 [2] 11.84 km (4:45 / km) +231m 4:20 / km
ahr:135 max:164 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Few days in Prague with the family so went for lovely early morning tourism mileage. Always a good way to see a city as although there was still an impressive number of people seeing the sights pre-8am, it was essentially a ghost town compared to later in the day.

Road Running 42:34 [2] 9.82 km (4:20 / km) +74m 4:11 / km

Blazing it round the classic main road Bearsden loop. Legs feeling fairly reasonable again after yesterdays rest. Not much to report really.
