ahr:143 max:175 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Earning my rent by testing the course (and nifty new Maprun app) from mum's evening event round Baljaffray in a couple of weeks. Enjoyed the course, didn't enjoy the rain.

Road Running 8:19 [2] 1.96 km (4:15 / km) +3m 4:13 / km
ahr:152 max:168 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Considered doing a bit more, but then didn't.

Trail Running 43:29 [2] 9.64 km (4:31 / km) +80m 4:20 / km
ahr:136 max:171 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Delightful little bit of Mugdock and home. Legs not feeling quite as lifeless as yesterday, but that was probably at somewhat thanks to the considerable net downhill.

Road Running 47:05 [2] 10.08 km (4:40 / km) +142m 4:22 / km
ahr:148 max:171 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Thought I was feeling okay after yesterday, but as soon got going it became clear that was not the case; felt pretty sluggish and legs felt like lead. Ah well, it was a nice evening so just plodded about for a bit anyway.

Road Running 19:19 [2] 4.08 km (4:44 / km) +45m 4:29 / km

Trail Running race 25:17 intensity: (15:17 @4) + (10:00 @5) 6.63 km (3:49 / km) +148m 3:26 / km
ahr:160 max:206 shoes: X-Talons 212-3 WK

Garscube Gallop round Dawsholm Park. 4 loops of the park on a big mix of paths, but all quite muddy and twisty and turney and up and down, but feel like that kept things quite varied and entertaining. Sat on 2nd's shoulder from about 100m in, with 1st miles off the front, but popped a bit up the hill on the last loop and so forced to settle for being the bronze boy.

Trail Running warm up/down 14:29 [2] 2.59 km (5:35 / km) +19m 5:24 / km
ahr:159 max:173 shoes: X-Talons 212-3 WK

Trail Running 54:23 [2] 10.97 km (4:57 / km) +222m 4:30 / km
ahr:139 max:163 shoes: Mizuno Wave Riders 21

Legs feeling okay, but was still fairly content to take it easy and splish-splash round the Mugdock paths in the rain.

Trail Running long 2:49:05 intensity: (1:49:05 @2) + (1:00:00 @3) 21.27 km (7:57 / km) +1355m 6:02 / km
ahr:131 max:198 shoes: X Talons 212 BP

Terrain munched our way straight up the side of Great Dodd, before wobbling along the ridge and back a bit. Lots of grim clagg, wind and rain but spirits stayed fairly high and occasionally we managed to pop out of the cloud for a nice view. Enjoyable few day of running and all good reccying for Ali's exciting upcoming effort.

Monday Aug 12 #

12 PM

Trail Running long 3:01:04 intensity: (2:01:04 @2) + (1:00:00 @3) 20.46 km (8:51 / km) +1341m 6:40 / km
ahr:119 max:165 shoes: X Talons 212 BP

Good loop round Scarfell and the surrounding big boys. I have done 2 mountain marathons with Ali right in this area, so despite recognising a lot of it, have basically been to none of the tops, so this nicely ticked several boxes as well as providing several good opportunities to reminisce. Ideal weather, especially after a pretty bad forecast, was a nice icing on the metaphorical long run cake.
