Got the metro out to meet the Barcelona native guys from last Sunday (Miquel and Marcel) for another long run in the hills. Mostly more of the same vibe really, but think the path we did our first descent on is is in the mix for my favourite path of the area. Temperature difference between the tops/southern slopes (hot hot hot) and the norther-facing valleys (baltic, can-see-your-breath type stuff) is super impressive, and because of this both the Spaniards were wearing extra layers (one with tights/long sleeve, one with thermal). However even if I was to do this again I would still just go for shorts and t-shirt, and the fact that this is on the whole "thermal weather" does not help my fears about the heat to come.

Another run slightly pushing the boundaries in the National Park. Made it to the top of the far side of the first valley, which is bit more rough and overgrown but also seems much quieter than some other parts. Anyway, good stuff. Looking forward to more.

Bit of a trek.

First race of the 2020-21 Barcelona Night League. Exciting times.
I have some serious questions for whoever decided they needed to map the strips of rough parkland between the river/railway tracks/motorways, but I suppose at least it was different from most questionable parkland maps you encounter. The course itself was a get-all-the-controls-score type thing, and there were a few tricky routechoice decisions to be made, but more in a sort of sprint-O type fashion. Some of the control circles were fiddly navigationally, but also the guy hanging obviously loved to tuck them away a bit so you had to be on your toes. Ended up losing a few minutes that weren't really my fault, but also lost some time making mistakes I really shouldn't have
There seemed to be a pretty big turn-out of people and I managed to chat to some people at the start/end which was good. Also, you got a pretty hefty snack afterwards which was an unexpected bonus. In the end it was a mostly pretty enjoyable experience, but I feel like some of the 'charm' of the area wouldn't last on a rerun so won't exactly be rushing back here.

Not sure if I was just keen to get home, but felt probably the best I had felt all night for this.

Thought I was getting out early enough to not need a head torch, but it was clear by the top of SPM that things were getting dusky, so instead of heading further into the park, opted to keep nearer to the edges to leave the bail option open when things got too dark. This was nice and worked well, but then I couldn't resist popping back up to the top at the end which resulted in having to use the phone torch to get down to civilisation. Survived it though.
