If yesterday felt Spanish, today would have easily been somewhere in the UK, with lots of deciduous trees on slippy slopes and some bracken and brambles. Plus it was cold and raining which only added to the vibe. I was a lot scappier today and made a few stupid wobbles (although some came from the map needing a fair amount of updating in a few key spots, so don't feel too bad about them), but was also taking my sweet time to slog up some of the hills. Edged out another victory, but with a bigger field I'm pretty sure my time wouldn't have stood up amazingly.

Snuck my way onto a Catalonia Orienteering Team weekend. It was primarily a weekend for junior selections (meaning there was the full Si race experience, which only added to the hype), but some Elites were allowed to tag along for some orienteering fun.

Today was an absolute belter of a middle on an area that gave me some big Spanish vibes (which people took personally what I said, as it is apparently just about the worst area going around here), and was a flat-out control-pick party. Had a few unnecessary bananas but for the most part I ran and naved to a high level of satisfaction, and so was happy to take a cheeky W and get that 'Tam Wilson' name brand out there. In fairness, the top Catalonia guy wasn't running this weekend (has was organising everything) but I'd like to think my time had a pretty good chance to stand up against other challengers. All extremely good fun at any rate.

Making the most of the training travel permit and went for some climbing on Montserrat with the guys that gave me a lift. It's been a while and I thought I did okay, but by the time I got home my arms were no longer working.

6x 4mins [1]. Wasn't feeling it too much but had just about enough motivation to get it done, at least partially driven by wanting to check out stuff around the port. Dying a bit, but managed to hold it together with the fairly modest session.

Not a terrible place to get reppy, but there were a couple of road crossings in the first part, and then the beach wasn't exactly empty of people (although the paths is very wide and many of the people were running/cycling/rollerblading so didn't feel too out of place). Route requires some fine tuning but I suspect I'll be back.

First 50mins were spent enjoying a very nice sunset and pinging along some lovely trails in the dusk. However when I went to turn on my headtorch, it did not. In fairness, I never checked it before leaving the flat but had been working totally fine on Friday and showing no indication of low battery, but lesson learnt at any rate. So was forced to whip out the phone torch for the next 40mins, which certainly kept the concentration levels up but did save the day.

In other sad news, probably the end of the line for the Waver Riders 23. Their days have been numbered ever since I wore them into Corserolla, but still sad to not see them through to 1000km. However even by my standard they are completely falling apart, and it's simply their time to go to The Great Shoe Rack In The Sky.
