Well, that sucked! Yellow course at Terrace Oaks. Even now that I can see exactly what I did, it still doesn't match with what I remember seeing in the woods. I was cutting from one trail to another (about 10m, that I had already crossed during the green course). Somehow, I changed direction within that 10m, and went on a long detour. I quickly realized that I had taken a bad turn, so I adjusted and kept going. I must have adjusted in the wrong direction. By the time I finally came out to a trail, and then finally figured out what trail it was, I got to do the trail-to-trail crossing again--no problems the second time around. Overall, I spent nearly half of my overall time on a single control.
After that, the rest went smoothly, except that my knee started hurting, and I walked the last 4 1/2 controls. I had asked a lot more of my knee than it has been accustomed to lately.
NOTE: I rated the course as "Easy" for technical intensity, because despite my massive screw up, it was pretty simple navigation.
