Orienteering race (Mountain Biking) 54:21 [5] ** 5.5 mi (9:53 / mi)
spiked:11/11c shoes: Trek 3 Series

Short course. My GPS conked out about 1/4 mile in, so I am guesstimating at the distance. The course was 7.6km straight line.

I had forgotten my bike shoes, so I used trail runners with the clipless pedals.

I'm proud to say that I never walked up a hill (there were some long, steep ones). On the last long hill, I was VERY close to walking, but I was also passing Dana, who was doing a green foot-o course, so of course I couldn't let myself stop pedaling!

Although I have set and vet 2 bike-o courses, this is the first time I raced one. Good times!

Orienteering race 2:44:51 intensity: (27:23 @1) + (9:14 @2) + (57:47 @3) + (1:08:09 @4) + (2:18 @5) **** 7.7 mi (21:25 / mi) +750ft 19:36 / mi
ahr:155 max:183 spiked:14/15c shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Arrived late, and started even later (at least 25 minutes after the mass start). AP has me losing almost 30 minutes on the first control. It wasn't a spike, but I didn't lose too much time on it. You can see on my route that I took an unusual route to 1, because I had to take YET ANOTHER trip to my car to get something that I forgot (my compass if I remember right). I have no excuse for the other little bobble on the way to 1.
