Note

It amazing what you can find on the Internet when you have nothing to do but surf the net all day because no kids show up.... BUT

I am now currently the STATE RECORD HOLDER FOR MINNESOTA in a 10 mile road race ran by a 32 year old man!!!!

4 PM

Running 25:00 [3] 5.56 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Boston Boost (Green)

Easy 25:00 in a brand new pair of Boston Boosts. These are the same shoe I ran my marathon in and I am thinking of running in these instead of a lighter flat.

Running tempo 1:10:00 [4] 15.56 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adios Boost Purple

Preactive + Stretch + Roll
15up + 20@Tempo, 3min + 10min of 1:45/:15 + CD to 1:10:00
Push + Sit
Stretch + Roll
Ice Bath

This was an AMAZING workout! Tempo was super strong and breathing pretty much right on that tempo line... threw in some surges to really skirt that tempo line too. Ended up running Gratton in 15:25 from top to bottom. The steadies were strong and the surges okay, but it was hard to really turn the legs over and get that pure speed going. Either way an unreal workout.

Stretch + Roll
1:05:00 with 20s (all out) 40s jogs for last 5min
Stretch + Roll + Rope + Ice Bath tub!

Solid run today. I scaled it back a bit on the effort wise but it still turned out to be pretty quick despite feeling pretty laxie dazie (if that's even a word)

Maybe Dom will correct me as he is still frequently trolling the attack point logs. lol

Today was a good day. Took the first 15 minutes to start to feel good. the next 45 was good but then I started feeling a bit tired. Quads were getting heavy but was able to keep rolling. Last 20 minutes the pace increased a fair bit.

8 AM

Running 1:15:00 [3] 16.67 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Boston Boost (Green)

Preactive with leg swings + lunge (6)
1:15:00 run

Really good run today. Feel like I am back to normal. Hamstrings were sore today though. Likely from the slipping and trying to run fast yesterday in miles.
3 PM

Running 30:00 [3] 6.67 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Boston Boost (Green)

Decided to do another 30 since it was so nice out and because of the big dinner tonight which I know there won't be ANY self control at. Also, going to load up the front end of this week and just do some shorter runs Friday and Saturday before the big 30km... Forecast looks the shits though.

9 AM

Running 1:40:00 [5] 22.22 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adios Boost Purple

Preactivation + Roll + Stretch
15up + 30@Tempo + (Some active + 2 strides)
2 x (1 mile/1min jog, 1mile, 3min jog)
15 CD

Good workout today. The tempo was much stronger then Wednesday. Certainly faster but it was still tough with my running style to roll it down and say at tempo given the snow and what not.

The miles were okay. It was slippery, especially going up. They were better than I thought they would be given how the week has been. I'm not overly excited about the times and the workout because I don't feel I put in a true Saturday effort. I was not "dead" after the 4th one - there wasn't anymore to give in the first 600m as I was sprinting! But there was more to give in the last 600 ish meters that's for sure.

Times: 5:20, 4:55, 5:24, 4:47.6
4 PM

Running 55:00 [3] 12.22 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Boost (Orange)

First 20 was tough to get going. Had a 2 hour nap while everyone was napping :) So... a bit sluggish to start. Last 35 okay but just went real easy... could have done another 5 minutes but called er quits early. That's enough running for today.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 13.33 km (4:30 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Boost (Orange)

This was a better run today. Legs are still not feeling good though. I have tried icing 3x time a day... literally drank 5 litres of water yesterday throughout the day to try and flush out anything? Ate a pile of food... Maybe I am rolling too much and not giving the muscles a real chance to recover?
