US Sprint Champs
I flew to New York on Thursday, had a nice dinner with my friend Tim who picked me up at JFK, and then spent the night at Balter's, managing to get a few hours of restless sleep. After some adventures, we drove up to Lake George in the morning with Greg and Sergei, in time for the start.
My legs felt heavy during the warm-up, and that did not change during the race. I felt like I was running in a fog and just going through the motions in my orienteering. I did not feel like I had any real problems, but I did lose a lot of time zig-zagging and being uncertain on the way to 14. Even if I knew I was not feeling strong, I was still surprised by how far behind I ended up, over a minute behind Ross, and 6th American (including Ross).
