Rollerskiing on the closed Mem. Drive with Anna and Misha.

Pick-up soccer with the usual crowd. My knee wasn't feeling too good, so I didn't run too much and didn't play particularly well.

Orienteering 41:21 [3] 4.2 km (9:51 / km)

Prospect Hill local meet - Green Course. Screwed up the first control because of poor map copying - lost about 4 minutes. Lost another 1.5 minutes on 6. Pretty clean otherwise, but not running to fast - planning to run more after the green course.

Orienteering 8:15 [5] 1.7 km (4:51 / km)

White course for $$$$. 3rd place, about 17 seconds behind William and Kenny.

Running 10:30 [3] 1.2 mi (8:45 / mi)

Running through the woods with William, Kenny, Misha after the green and white courses. This ended abruptly when I smacked my right knee hard against a rock for the second time in four days. Limped afterwards (see training).

Running (Limping on Trails) 21:46 [2] 2.7 mi (8:04 / mi)

Limping around on trails for a while after hurting my knee at Prospect Hill.

Lifting and such with Misha. Was planning to run beforehand, but the knee I smacked against a rock yesterday was bothering me. Hopefully, icing it will help, and i'll be ok by tomorrow.

Running to Pine Hill and back from Davis, plus some jogging at Pine Hill.

Terrain loop intervals at Pine Hill. My knee felt a little weird after soccer on Monday, and the pain persisted today. Not good. Also, during the 4th interval, I wiped out and slammed my other knee on a rock or log or something. I think it's just a bruise though. Didn't finish the last interval so i could help William look for his glasses.

Abi and Matthias' O-Race at Boojum, Blue course. About 7 min in errors, mostly due to lack of concentration.

Easy-medium rollerski workout by the river with the ski team in a sports-filled day. Felt pretty good after not rollerskiing since June.

Soccer 1:15:00 [2]

Pick-up soccer across the river. Tired after orienteering and rollerskiing, i mostly stayed back during the game.

First IM game of the season, a disappointing 1-0 loss. Played pretty poorly and definitely felt rusty after almost not playing all summer...

Running Davis to Pine Hill (30:47), around the terrain loops for a demo by Matthias and Will (thanks guys!), between intervals, and back to Davis. Really not sure about the speed and distance.

I got really lost on the first one, so the time doesn't really mean much since i stopped the watch for the time i was lost until Misha ran by and i followed him.

A Red course at a NEOC local meet at Estabrook Woods. Time doesn't include map copying time (3:01). Ran very sloppily in the beginning and made plenty of mistakes throughout. Felt surprisingly good physically after a long run yesterday and little sleep last night, but had trouble making myself concentrate and pay attention to terrain.

Longish run by the river with Misha. We ran to the Museum of Science and back, chattering in Russian, avoiding the topic of disaster.

Easyish run with Misha by the river to get our legs moving after the Boulder Dash.

Boulder Dash - Day 2 Blue. Another solid run, with maybe 5-6 minutes of mistakes, but no major errors. Quite tired towards the end, but again happy with overall result. 4th place overall on Blue, i think.

Local BAOC meet in San Francisco. Lost time writing down the special codes on the colored plates (that were used instead of controls) instead of punching. Pretty good run otherwise, including some large fields of poison oak. We'll know if i am poisoned at the Boulder Dash...
