Friday Aug 31

Running 38:53 [3]5.13 mi (7:35 / mi)
Easy run in the Berkeley hills - all the way up a hill the first 20 minutes, coming back down via a longer way on the way back.
Strength 15:00 [2]

Thursday Aug 30

Running 7:21 [5]1.1 mi (6:40 / mi)
Hill repeats on a really steep hill in Sausalito. I am guessing the distance. Here are the splits (about 2:30 breaks in between):
1:49
1:49
1:53
1:50
Running 31:25 [2]4.05 mi (7:45 / mi)
Warmup/cooldown, running back down the hill after each interval.

Wednesday Aug 29

Running 1:07:49 [3]9.1 mi (7:27 / mi)
Running in the beautiful hills above Sausalito, CA. It was very foggy and cool, great weather for running. And did i mention beautiful?
Strength 15:00 [2]
After running.

Monday Aug 27

Running 33:58 [3]4.58 mi (7:24 / mi)
Running on the streets in Ohio while reading an ONA for company/training. It's pretty good training actually. Next step is writing while running. Then - on to doing problem sets.

Sunday Aug 26

Running 1:09:55 [3]9.5 mi (7:20 / mi)
Mindless run in a local park in Columbus, 15 laps of 950m plus warmup/cooldown. Read the Pawtuckaway map along the way and took lap splits to ease the boredom.

4:24 4:25 4:24
4:23 4:23 4:17

The usual, after the run.

Saturday Aug 25

Orienteering 43:30 [3]5.75 km (7:34 / km)
Running an old score-o on the Hoover Dam map just north of Columbus. Pretty nice woods, but still a very small area, just like all the others around here.

Friday Aug 24

Strength 20:00 [2]
The usual
Running 12:40 [5]3.45 km (3:40 / km)
Intervals at a park in Ohio.
3 x 950m, 2 x ~300m

Felt pretty good and not as bored as i would be doing a distance run here.
Running 30:35 [2]4.03 mi (7:35 / mi)
Warm-up, cool-down, jogging in-between intervals

Thursday Aug 23

Orienteering 42:15 [3]5.5 km (7:41 / km)
Running an old course on some map in central Ohio. Pretty crappy terrain, but better than nothing.

Wednesday Aug 22

Strength 15:00 [2]
The usual

Sunday Aug 19

Running 1:02:07 [3]8.0 mi (7:45 / mi)
Running on the Lill-Jansskogen map one last time before heading back to the States.

Saturday Aug 18

Strength 15:00 [2]
Orienteering 42:48 [3]
Running around on our map with two guys from New Zealand who are staying with us.

Friday Aug 17

Strength 20:00 [2]
sit-ups, push-ups, dips
Running 30:11 [2]4.3 mi (7:01 / mi)
Easy run down Valhallavägen

Wednesday Aug 15

Hiking 3:25:00 [1]
Hiking back from the Kebnekaise Mountain Station - 19km, skipped the boat ride this time.

Tuesday Aug 14

Hiking 3:00:00 [2]
Climbing Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden, with Kenny. Very steep at times, but definitely worthwile - the snowcap on top was fun to slide down on our butts from. (Had to make sure not to tumble several hundred meters down onto a glacier off the edge though...)

Monday Aug 13

Hiking 3:00:00 [1]
Walking with Kenny from Nikkaluokta to the Kebnekaise Mountain station - 14km, with a 5km boat ride in the middle. Felt exhausted by the end after basically not sleeping all night during the 17-hour train ride the night before.

Saturday Aug 11

Strength 20:00 [2]
push-ups, sit-ups, dips
Orienteering 1:26:06 [2]10 km (8:37 / km)
Running on the map called Kårsta way out at the end of the commuter rail. It took us forever to get there, and it was raining the whole time. But at least i felt pretty good running and orienteering.

Friday Aug 10

Running 6:37 [3]0.8 mi (8:15 / mi)
cool-down
Orienteering 39:05 [3]5.43 km (7:12 / km)
Drew a bunch of circles on the Grmista map and ran to them. Very fast, nice woods. I felt good and orienteered well.

Thursday Aug 9

Running 7:00 [2]0.8 mi (8:44 / mi)
running to the start
Orienteering 54:57 [4]6.6 km (8:20 / km)
Kenny and i reran the course we did at a meet over a month ago. My time was 5 minutes better this time, but i still made 5 minutes of mistakes. Felt tired towards the end.

Wednesday Aug 8

Running 20:00 [2]2.5 mi (7:59 / mi)
Running to and from Haga
Strength 50:00 [3]
Gympa in the park with Kenny, Mattias, some Lappis guys and lots of Swedes. Fun, as usual, and still difficult to keep up.

Tuesday Aug 7

Rollerblading 20:00 [2]
to/from Lappis, pulled by Kenny on his brand new Swiss Army bike part of the way
Running 55:07 [3]7.97 mi (6:55 / mi)
Fast running with some dudes from Lappis, including climbing a gigantic man-made hill in the process. The hill killed me, and i was definitely slower after it. Need more hill training this fall and winter, i think.

Monday Aug 6

Running 59:49 [3]
Running on and off trails on our backyard map with Kenny in the rain. Still felt a little sick, so i stopped early.

Wednesday Aug 1

Running 12:30 [3]1.7 mi (7:20 / mi)
Trail-running on the Day 2 map.
Orienteering 33:37 [4]4.8 km (7:00 / km)
Instead of doing my own 10.3km course, i decided to do the H18a course from the previous day because i was feeling sick and had to leave the meet site early. Had a good run - having raced in the terrain before helped.
