| HVO Champs at Saxon Woods, Red Course. I misscopied the 2nd control and never found it, losing a couple of minutes in the process. Then, i could not find two controls in the green, but otherwise felt ok and navigated pretty cleanly. Sergei had a great run, though, blowing away the competition! |
 | Orienteering 23:24 [4]3.5 km (6:41 / km) | |

| Orange course at HVO champs. Started getting tired and worried about injuring myself, so i cut the course short. |

| Day 2 of WCOC A-Meet. Again, very worried about my ankle, and i taped heavily since I didn't have the luxury of an ActiveAnkle this time. Started out a little tentative, afraid to put too much weight on my left foot, but gained confidence as time went on. Didn't make many mistakes (~3:30 worth) and kept a conistsent pace throughout, eating Gu whenever i got tired. |

| WCOC A-meet in Connecticut, Day 1. This was my first run of any kind, and first race, since i sprained my ankle at the Troll Cup, so I was quite nervous. Thanks to Sergei Zhyk, however, i had an ActiveAnkle to race in, so i decided to try it out. I ended up having a good, almost clean (~1:30 of mistakes) run, and finished 2nd on blue. |

| Biking back from work. Worked pretty hard chasing down a tights-clad messenger on the uphill side of the Brooklyn bridge, then worked even harder on the steep uphill coming home. Felt goo, will try to race at the WCOC A-meet on Saturday. |

| Biking to work in the morning. Much faster than last week, although i didn't seem to be working harder. I am probably getting to be a better biker and learning to not be terrified of traffic. |

| First attempt at biking to work in the morning. Took 40 minutes from door to door, the traffic wasn't too bad, and the view coming across the Brooklyn Bridge is simply spectacular. |
Sunday Oct 6 |
 | Tennis 45:00 [2] | |
| (injured) |
| Tennis with my mom, dad, and brother. Took it easy and watched the ankle. |
Saturday Oct 5 |
 | Orienteering 9:22 [3]1 km (9:22 / km) | |
| (injured) |
| First attempt to run/orienteer after spraining my ankle at the Troll Cup. I tried doing the orange course at a local meet in central Ohio. I ran with an active ankle that Sergei graciously lent me. Unfortunately, my ankle was still so swollen that the active ankle just squeezed it a lot, making it very uncomfortable to run, especially downhill. I quit after the first control and returned to the start. |
 | Running 11:09 [2]1.44 mi (7:45 / mi) | |
| |
| Jogging around a grassy field around the start after taking off the active ankle. Felt a lot better, but still not very strong. |
 | Orienteering 16:54 [3]2 km (8:27 / km) | |
| |
| Apparently, my dad volunteered me to pick up controls at this meet ahead of time, so i obliged and collected the white course and a couple of other controls, running without the active ankle and being careful about where i placed my foot. Not too bad, though it swelled up after we got home. |
