| Morning jog around Stadsskogen. Saw a huge hare sitting in the middle of the trail, staring at me. Cute.
Off to O-Ringen today, where I'm running H21Lång. Hoping to be competitive. Dream goal is to come top 15 overall. | ||

| A nice run on the Åland map with Rob. Really nice terrain - one of the best maps around Uppsala, and way under-used! This was followed by a "swim" in a mud puddle of a lake that left a certain peculiar odor that's following me around. A nice schnitzel and ice cream for lunch in Järlåsa hit the spot. | ||

| Intervals on the horse loop in Stadsskogen. Did 2x(10x 1 min hard / 1 min jog) with 5 minutes jogging between the sets. Felt awful warming up and running the first couple, but then got going and felt good until #18 or so, and then it was a struggle the rest of the way. A good, hard session. | ||

| Björte's backbana (the less-steep version of the standard backbana) with Patrick, Tomas, and Ulf. Started slow and gradually picked up the pace until we were running quite fast, probably more like intenstiy 4, for a while. Then my stomach gave out, just like yesterday, and I had to take a short break before continuing. Still, running fast felt good most of the way, so that oughta be a good sign. | ||

| Hmm, I was asked to be the course setter for Linne's national event in the fall of 2008, and I seem to have said 'yes'. The map will probably be a re-drawn version of Ekebysjö: http://www.oklinne.nu/maps/maps_info.php?id=12&zoo... So I guess this means I'll be staying in Sweden awhile.... Now, just to get a job or something! | ||

| A piece of one of the Tuesday night line-O courses on Nåsten with Andrew. Both running and orienteering felt quite ok, but overall tired afterwards. | ||

| Castle hill intervals. First time running hard since I was sick, but it felt fine. Legs were ok, breathing was ok, but my stomach was giving me trouble, so I ended up doing just 4 of the 6 I planned. Note to self: 300 grams of peanuts before intervals is a bad idea.
On the bright side, the last time I ran this loop (May 2006), I was averaging about 2:20, so this is an improvement. 2:10 2:10 2:16 (really windy at the top - almost at a stand-still) 2:10 | ||

| Felt very mediocre the whole day, but decided to try running a technique training that the Länna club organized. Did the medium course, and felt great once I got in the woods. Running felt really easy, and my headache and stuffiness were gone after the run. Orienteering: it's good for what ails you! | ||

| Rolled out of bed after about 11 hours of sleep and decided to declare myself unsick. A few hours later, dragged myself out for an around-the-block run on an actual warm, sunny summer day. Running felt awful. It was probably a combination of not being 100% healthy yet, not having run in three days (when was the last time i did that??), and the heat. Hopefully, it will get better from here: a month and two days left till WOC sprint qualifier and then two more days to the middle qualifier. | ||
