Skiing 1:20:00 [2]

Skiing at Winding Trails, first with Kat, then by myself.

Orienteering 37:00 [3] *** 3.6 km (10:17 / km)
spiked:15/19c shoes: VJ Supra

Bye-bye-O sprints set by Peter Grollmann at Stratton Brook State Park. Lots of snow everywhere, roughly knee-deep off trail. Ran the CH sprint first and was all over the place, taking stupid routes and running by controls. Got schooled by feet by 4 minutes. Then ran the US sprint, which was faster and easier, and didn't have any problems this time. Had a slightly faster time than feet, but he ran this one first, so it's hard to compare. Feet (and SnowClone) took the day's biggest victory, though, out-navigating Kat and me from Winding Trails to Stratton Brook on a daring, last-second maneouver.

Skiing 1:40:00 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (50:00 @2) + (30:00 @3)

Skiing at Winding Hills. First, gave feet an introduction to skating and skied around with him a bit. He showed some promise and will certainly be much better with less crappy rental equipment. Then did a loop with Kat, who skied better than I'd ever seen her do before. Then another skate loop by myself, pushing a bit harder.

Running 1:32:40 [2] 17.7 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra

Nice daylight run with Marie. Drove over to her place and managed not to get stuck in the snow (unlike the FedEx truck that we watched get stuck as we left for the run, and which was still there struggling to get out when we got back an hour and a half later"). We ran up the streets until the turn-off into West Rock. To our surprise, the road up was plowed, as was Baldwin Drive along the top - or rather, they were in the process of plowing it, so we ran as far as they had gotten and turned back and then did it again. It was really nice up on top - lots of snow, beautiful views and good running surface. Nice run.

Running 18:00 [2]

To/from the gym.

Soccer 1:45:00 [3]

Was actually at soccer for three hours, but not all of that was playing. Played pretty poorly tonight, which was disappointing, but I also seemed to get better as the evening went on and other people got tired.

Running 1:05:56 [3] 9.99 km (6:36 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra

Evening run with Marie at Maltby Lakes. Lots of snow everywhere, which made for tough going. Marie was a beast, though, and I struggled to keep up at times. Nice to have company, glad I got out there.

Skiing 56:23 intensity: (12:00 @2) + (44:23 @3)

Drove to Boston (1:45). Got Weston map and map holder from Alex and Ed. Went to Weston. Did the ski-O course from Sunday (awesome!! Really fun - and fairly challenging with a headlamp and no controls). Drove to Newton. Picked up Ed. Drove to Giovanni and Katia's house in Somerville (very slowly). Met with the CSU brain trust about the SML Champs. Drove to Ed and Alex's place. Bonded with Ian, Ross, and Ed. Drove back to New Haven (5:08).
