Running 12:00 [2] 2.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra 2013

Warm-up

Orienteering race 1:05:19 [4] 9.1 km (7:11 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra 2013

Rånässtafetten, a 5-leg relay east of Uppsala. I ran the last leg for Linné's 4th team. We stayed pretty even with the 3rd team for the first three legs, but our fourth runner had some trouble, and so I went out in the catch-up mass start, along with ten other stragglers.

I had a decent run, given my current shape and long break from orienteering. I felt a little stronger in terrain than the day before, and my orienteering was ok, though I made a couple of costly mistakes and was sloppy with direction out of the control a couple of times. Probably about 5 minutes lost in total.

I finished 3rd in the mass start, chasing down and passing one guy over the last three controls. This felt like progress from yesterday, but still such a long way to go until I am in decent shape. One day at a time!

We finished 43rd, I was 47th on the leg.

Running 15:00 [2] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra 2013

Warmup, mostly with Mandus

Orienteering race 43:19 [4] 5.6 km (7:44 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra 2013

Lännasprinten middle distance race. This was my first real O-race since O-Ringen!

I was excited and nervous to race again, and this was reflected in the way I ran at the beginning of the course, with a lot of zig-zagging and impatience. I calmed down a bit as the course went on, but still mostly orienteered by running and then stopping to look at the map. Needless to say, my speed was pretty atrocious too.

Ended up 57th out of 73, well behind Ross who continues to race well: http://obasen.orientering.se/winsplits/online/sv/d...
