Sunday Jul 21 #

Cross-Training 30:00 [1]

T.rex training 40:00 [1]

Fitness blender leg strength routine, followed by ab workout with Alli.

Saturday Jul 20 #

Biking 1:15:00 [3]

Longer peloton ride at the Blair House gym. Hot and gross outside, so skipped the QOC beginner event.

Running 46:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (26:00 @2) + (10:00 @5)

One clear takeaway from racing in France was that I am very weak on uphills compared to flats and downhills. US Champs in Big Basin won't exactly be flat, so time to work on that. It was hot out (real feel >100F) and I considered backing out, but then saw that Peggy and Max did hill intervals the other day, which served as ample inspiration for me.

I did 6 x Capitol Hill from the National Mall side (up to Capitol steps) after a long warmup and drills. The goal was to run each one a little faster than the one before. Almost succeeded:

There was a large demonstration of Falun Gong followers on the back side of the Capitol to keep me company...
A good, tough workout, and I am pleased to have done it.

Wednesday Jul 17 #

Cross-Training 30:00 [2]

Warmup on treadmill and elliptical.

T.rex training 32:00 [1]

Back to the strength routine after neglecting it while in France.

Monday Jul 15 #

Running 15:00 [2]

Soccer 45:00 [3]

CRS lunchtime soccer. It was hot and humid - around 90F. However, I felt surprisingly good and felt like I could run nonstop the entire time. Not sure if it's improved fitness from a week of racing, a week at altitude, or some random spike, but it felt nice.
