Note

It's been a good solid month of gradually building up a bit more mileage, and the physio has now given me the tentative all-clear. Still lots of daily exercises/stretches etc to do to try to avoid injury re-occurrence, but it's all looking quite promising for now. So after being injured in various ways on and off for around 18 months now, I'm finally starting to tentatively think that ... I'm back!

Work to Hyde Park. Good progression run in 4 x 4.5km sections from 5:00 up to 4:30 pace in 10-second increments. Longest run back yet - all feeling good.

Greenwich & Isle of Dogs Street-O. First Street-O in 10 months, great to be back out. Felt a distinct lack of fitness (11.1km covered one of my all-time lows for a street-O I think), and slopiness in navigating smoothly which probably comes from being out of practice, but the score was pretty good. The route was fairly obvious I think - pick off pretty much everything in the Isle of Dogs and then whatever you could manage south of the river. Definitely the first time I've used a lift in an orienteering race...
