Valentine's 10k race - Chessington. This was planned as a Tempo run, rather than a proper all-out racing attempt, given the long run yesterday - I often find Tempos quite tough, so thought it might be easier to do in a race. It went ok - a bit slower than my recent 8km tempos, but there were a few ups and downs, so not too bad considering the recent high mileage. At least I managed a fairly consistent effort throughout (allowing for the inclines) although I was fading a bit in the last few km. Finished 11 seconds quicker than when I last did this race 3 years ago (but much better paced), and only 14 seconds slower than my (poor) 10km PB, which I'd like to have another crack at beating soon - I've got another couple of 10km races planned in the marathon build-up.
