Victoria Park. Another 10km race in lieu of a tempo run. Actually managed set an official 10km race PB (knocking 15 seconds off my previous best from Croydon last October) but still 3 seconds slower than the 38:26 I managed for 10km in a tempo training run last year, and only about the same speed as the two 8km tempo runs I did in Battersea Park last month.
It seemed to be a pretty flat route, although Garmin claims 76m of climb with lots of little ups and downs (not convinced). Bit of a wind blowing in one direction and slight incline to conincide which made the 2nd/5th/8th km's all a bit slower than the rest. Three-lap course felt pretty tough, and I was flagging a bit at half-way and slowed down a bit after fast start, but pretty pleased with a good effort overall, especially given the continued high mileage I'm doing generally.
Rough adjusted splits:
3:42, 3:47, 3:44, 3:50, 3:59 (first half 19:01)
