Sunday Jul 21 #

Note
rhr:46

Sleep hasn't been the best the past couple of days. Still would be good compared to month or 2 ago, but worse than recently. No idea of its controllable or not but expect I'm at least more.sensitibe to things.

Yoga 25:00 [0]

Spent most of the day up Goauch. Bit tired but ok.

Out and back along the Dee to keep it reasonably flat. Much to my enjoyment, it started chucking it down at the end :)

Swimming 26:51 [2] 1.56 km (17:11 / km)

Knockburn. Warm day but windy so a bit more choppy than the last couple of times. As usual, set off way too quick and arms got tired after probably 250m. Need to make a conscious effort to go slowly; I think my "easy" pace is based off muscle memory and my arms can't cope.

Cycling 24:12 intensity: (13:39 @1) + (10:19 @2) + (14 @3) 7.54 km (18.7 kph) +85m

Fun :) sleep good and energy good! Energy good after as well. Legs just struggling a bit. Very happy with health progress. :)
Felt like a healthy person for nearly all of yesterday. Can't remember the last time that happened, or if it's even happened in the last 1.5 years. Ended up only doing 35 min relaxation/meditation (just because of time) and still good in evening.

Note
rhr:45 (rest day)

Sleep wasn't great again due to heat but feeling ok, just took a while to wake up. Fairly busy day so didn't get round to yoga.

Monday Jul 15 #

Note

Turns out southern Scotland iin summer is far too hot for me. Seem to be making it a habit of picking hot weekends to head south. Back in Edinburgh and sleep was very dostrupted and it took a couple of hours to fall asleep. I'm pretty sure it's cause of heat. Possibly partly cause wasn't expecting it to be an issue, but still. At least at home home, heat only becomes an issue when I mess up timings.
9 AM

Road running 36:31 [3] 5.85 km (6:15 / km) +112m 5:42 / km

Easy round the seat. Energy good, legs had zilch. Think this was the first run where I didn't feel at all impacted by energy. :) Although that's great and I'd much rather my overall week to be limited by fitness levels than health, it is also the first time where I have an idea how fit I am and how much training I can do, and consequently was a realisation of just how big a mountain I still have to climb. Recently there has been quite a big gap between energy ability and what I'm doing (mostly), but there has still been tiredness, so it's been impossible to know how fit I actually am. I've felt like that with swimming for years, so will just have to get used to it being running as well. Going to have a much needed rest day tomorrow.
