English Nationals xc at Donnington park, nice tough course - 74th
Started steady which was a nice change and felt good for a few k gradually taking people. Then after roughly half way started having some bad feels, most annoying was the arm pain. Kept on thinking about the race tonight and didn't really want to suffer too much, lost a few places for the rest. 1 min behind Nath ain't too bad. Heart rate claims average 161 and max 178 with a low blip at the start, would like to think I was trying a bit harder than that.

British Nights at Cademan and Thringstone Woods - 3rd (2nd Brit) - Massive bonk
Going well for most of it and was managing to push hard but slow down enough to find the controls without too many issues, was still scrappy though. Caught Paul Couldridge and Tom Davies (M40 1st and 2nd on the night) at around 14 but wasn't really aware they were on the same course until about 18. They were running well so couldn't shake them and a nice little trained formed which was good in terms of keeping me going, still had a couple of little blips though. Fairly substantial mistake on 24, couldn't see the control for first attempt in then had the map the wrong way round. Started to realise I was tiring here but kept going for a couple of controls still with the pack. Then after I split with others on a routechoice, I really began to struggle and Paul got away. Legs then just seemed to refuse to work and was in a lot of discomfort, kept on falling over which was painful. Anyway made it to the finish by walking/crawling the last few controls. Lost 4 minutes to Paul on this last bit and a solid 35 seconds on the run in, good going.
Fairly dazed for the rest of the night, had some sort of fever and felt quite sick, nice. I did actually enjoy the course quite a lot up until my death.
