Running 12:55 [3] 2.6 km (4:58 / km)
shoes: Asics 33-DFA

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [0]

Another tough session.

Running 26:30 [2] 4.73 km (5:36 / km) +30m 5:26 / km
shoes: Asics 33-DFA (YB)

Small warm up to Dumbiedykes, little jog between sprintervals and 400s, and warm down on the Meadows with a few short strides.

Orienteering 24:39 [4] 5.91 km (4:10 / km) +18m 4:07 / km
shoes: Asics 33-DFA (YB)

Sprintervals with Andy. Really fun training, running hard and exchanging the lead a fair bit. Completely ballsed up the last one, pegged it down the wrong road after the railway and took a good while before I clocked it.

Running 9:22 [4] 2.23 km (4:12 / km) +23m 4:00 / km
shoes: Asics 33-DFA (YB)

Wacked on 4x 400m [90s] afterwards on the path next to the Seat which was pretty damn hard, especially the last one finishing on a gradual uphill. Nice to run fast though.

Nice run with lads to Blackford and Braids, enjoyable route round the golf course. Snapped my lace off walshes before I set off so one shoe was a little bit loose.

Oh baby, its a triple. Gave the M21E a miss in the end though.

Midland champs - Course 2
Unsurprisingly a little bit off the pace but also a couple of silly misses. Enjoyable enough course, went round the road on that long leg towards the end which I'm not sure about. Think I had a similar leg 3 years ago and went straight but there wasn't much in it then.

Good to get some 1:15000 practice and also running a long race when completely ducked.

Have some nasty blister on the bottom of most of my toes. Going to take two days off of running I think.

English Nationals xc at Donnington park, nice tough course - 74th
Started steady which was a nice change and felt good for a few k gradually taking people. Then after roughly half way started having some bad feels, most annoying was the arm pain. Kept on thinking about the race tonight and didn't really want to suffer too much, lost a few places for the rest. 1 min behind Nath ain't too bad. Heart rate claims average 161 and max 178 with a low blip at the start, would like to think I was trying a bit harder than that.

Running warm up/down 20:08 [2] 3.17 km (6:21 / km) +6m 6:17 / km
shoes: VJ Bold

Orienteering 1:14:44 [4] 11.36 km (6:35 / km) +156m 6:09 / km

British Nights at Cademan and Thringstone Woods - 3rd (2nd Brit) - Massive bonk
Going well for most of it and was managing to push hard but slow down enough to find the controls without too many issues, was still scrappy though. Caught Paul Couldridge and Tom Davies (M40 1st and 2nd on the night) at around 14 but wasn't really aware they were on the same course until about 18. They were running well so couldn't shake them and a nice little trained formed which was good in terms of keeping me going, still had a couple of little blips though. Fairly substantial mistake on 24, couldn't see the control for first attempt in then had the map the wrong way round. Started to realise I was tiring here but kept going for a couple of controls still with the pack. Then after I split with others on a routechoice, I really began to struggle and Paul got away. Legs then just seemed to refuse to work and was in a lot of discomfort, kept on falling over which was painful. Anyway made it to the finish by walking/crawling the last few controls. Lost 4 minutes to Paul on this last bit and a solid 35 seconds on the run in, good going.

Fairly dazed for the rest of the night, had some sort of fever and felt quite sick, nice. I did actually enjoy the course quite a lot up until my death.
