SOL 1 at Birsemore
Going pretty well then made two biggy mistakes at 11 and 12, then a bit sad into the finish from there. Once again, enjoyable and tough, but not sure I would want to return to Deeside in too much of a hurry...

Running 12:49 [2] 2.3 km (5:34 / km) +25m 5:17 / km

Orienteering 15:14 [4] 4.16 km (3:40 / km) +36m 3:31 / km

SOUL at Cove
Had this one on the radar for a while as the biggest race of the weekend so put a lot of prep in for it. Solid run round some classic Scottish estate, probably took a few bad routes, but meh, good fun racing round a sprint again.

Running 10:41 [2] 2.13 km (5:02 / km) +19m 4:49 / km

Running 12:25 [2] 2.49 km (4:59 / km) +5m 4:56 / km

Orienteering 1:42:57 [3] 13.93 km (7:23 / km) +314m 6:39 / km

British Nights at Muir of Dinnet
Lots of scrappiness and a few strange routes but generally going okay until 18 where I lost my head a bit and then from there things started to go badly. Few big mistakes from there to the finish and lost my legs at some point too, quite the slog! Ah well, good tough stuff and was having fun until the end. Times from the podium are quite disgusting, very impressive running, particularly from young Thomas.

Tim finally finished with his dissertation and exams so thought we'd make the most and get out for a nice long one and hopefully get a good sunrise. Bit of a slog down WoL and we were both feeling sub-optimal but eventually perked up when we got to the Pentlands. Very cool sunrise down by the reservoir but did haze over by the time we got to the top of Castle Law. No dramas back from there, good shift. Only had one cookie beforehand and one gel during the run which did the job nicely, was quite thirsty though, must be those tropical temperatures we're having.

Running 2:01:08 [2] 22.09 km (5:29 / km) +460m 4:58 / km

Bit of Seat with Tim which was all good but then Tim had to return home for an ungodly 24 hour exam so I went and did a lap a Dudingston gc, then Craigmillar and onto Braids before returning back to the flat. Felt pretty terrible so once Tim left it was quite the slog.

Running 38:35 [2] 7.22 km (5:21 / km) +180m 4:45 / km

Round the Seat and up the crags with Timbo. Feeling a little rough but there was some good pink skies looking over to the Seat from the crags. Same run with Tim as my first run back 13 days ago post fat knee, nice.
6 PM

Running 1:01:11 [3] 16.32 km (3:45 / km) +62m 3:41 / km

Not feeling 100% so settled for another canal razarooney instead of a session. Good stuff and lovely to have the company of Thomas Wilson.

Dan mentioned Pentlands and it was sunny so did a Caerketton nipper with Dan, healthy breeze to contend with on the top. Some textbook Dan complaining about how bad he was feeling whilst speeding up on the way back, good fun though. Three trips to the Pentlands in four days is good going but some clear room for improvement.
