Fancied a big job but was struggling to think of something which was particularly appealing so ended up settling for the marathon loop. Conditions out along canal and WoL were rather nasty with a strong headwind, combined with doses of sleet. Ended up razzing out to Balerno, partially to keep warm, and also because it was quite good fun. Whipped the cag on up Harlaw Road as weather really was grim and cold, then took a wrong turn at the reservoir so slogged through some terrain to get back on track which was quite sad and slippy. Got going again after the hill until somewhere near Roslin where right hip was getting sore. The route from here to the finish is far from inspirational, and my hip was slowing me down quite a lot, and it was sporadically hailing but love a good grind so happy days. Good shift.

Wasn't sure what Tim and I were going to end up doing today but somehow we ended up at the track, strange. JLeitch suggested a session of 8x 800m (2 mins) which we went along with, though we ignored the suggestion of 10min tempo at the end. It was quite breezy, and it was quite hard, and I couldn't run very fast at the end, and Tim binned me, but it felt worthwhile.

Pentlands from Bonaly with Sasha. Nice loop and enjoyable, though was a bit nippy in the wind at times.

Good bit of night fighting on Whinny
Lent my compass to Eglantine which nicely highlighted that I struggle to navigate without one, also maybe just wasn't quite on the ball. Ran close to Felly for a lot of it, with me catching up then mucking up a couple of times. Ended up with a nice sprint finish against Felly from the third to last control, saw Jonny after the second last control and gave him a good spook, then got to the finish and realised I missed out the last control, oops.

Collected controls with Sasha after, nice one.

Fancied something a little different so went Princes Street into WoL, and back on the canal with Tam. Nice change of scenery. Leg still a bit weird but is holding on okay, suppose can call this one an easy week.

Minding my own business on my way back home from JCMB when I spotted Sasha lurking outside the library staring right at me. Next thing I know, he's bundled me into his car and we're heading for the Pentlands. Parked at Flotterstone and did the big ridge out to Scald Law and back. Feeling meh but it was nice to be out and the weather wasn't too harsh on us.
