8 AM

Running 7:53:50 [2] 66.77 km (7:06 / km) +3557m 5:36 / km

Double Pentlands Skyline from home. Jogged out to Hillend with Sasha then we were joined by Ewan, Oleg and Peds for a delightful clockwise skyline. Good weather and chat, and legs were feeling pretty good too.

Went down to the car park and scranned some pasta then back out again solo for an anti-clockwise skyline. Getting thirsty at the far end so decided I'd be a devil and drink out of the slightly boggy (water was flowing) stream just before the drove road. Felt a little off going up South Black but it passed quickly and once I'd got up Scald Law it didn't feel like I had too long to go. I was scared of the Castle Law climb after it completely destroying me a couple of months a go but in the end it was no dramas.

The jog home was a touch painful but the shoe change was much appreciated. Also saw Forest Demon and Emily on the way up Morningside so was nice to have a chat with them.

Happy to have ticked that off and a very pleasant day on the whole.

FwtN at Calton
Didn't fancy the mass start so was going to do the long but then I couldn't find the start for ages, northern corner of the KF is hard to find, so ended up in the mass start. Overall, I struggled to read the map and made lots of mistakes but I enjoyed parts of it.

Note
(rest day)

Had planned a fairly long morning run but when the alarm went off at 6.30 I wasn't feeling it so went back to bed. Then I woke up at 7.30 but doing a short run seemed trivial when I'd planned a long run so I didn't bother with that either. Then I was busy in the evening so had a rest day, wahey, good times.
