| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| Morning run with Robbie.
Felt ok, bit funny in the head
Wednesday Nov 29 | ||
| Note | ||
| Drove all the way out to Summer Series but didnt run. Got a really bad headache and nausea (earlier in the day has fuzzy vision but felt fine). Feared I was having my first ever migraine, and it was getting pretty bad - so I went to bed at 730 and slept 10 hours | ||
Tuesday Nov 28 | ||
| Gym 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| same as other weeks. 30min cardio (20min row) and then mainly core stuff. | ||
| Run 57:00 [3] | ||
| Supposed to be intervals around Ball's Head with Robbie, Andy, Prong and Glenn.
Feeling really sick, only got self to blame I think. Got home and had 5 peanut butter sandwiches. Curse the inventor of peanut butter. Would kill him if I had the chance, fear he/she has been dead for centuries though.
Monday Nov 27 | ||

| Run long 1:28:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5 | ||
| Long(ish) run with Andy and Robbie. From North Curl Curl along beach and headlands south and back.
Feeling pretty bloody buggered.
Saturday Nov 25 | ||
| Adventure Race race (Kodak Urban Max) 3:57:00 [4]* | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| Well we were 4th, quite embarrassing really. But credit to the winners, they had an awesome race. As for the other 2 places....
We had a reasonable race. Struggled to work out some clues and it meant we didnt choose the best route choice. No real problem with any checkpoint, ran fast. Had to wait a little while for some public transport, and for a checkpoint to open. (Little did we know that the first two teams did a checkpoint before the opening time - the winners only 10min and they still would have won, but second place did a 11am opening time checkpoint t 945! Its a shame cos this was a really good race from Gary, pity he still manages to stuff up major things that influence results) Ran bloody hard, well I did, Andy was fine I think. Longest, hardest running of done in a while, avg HR was pretty huge for me. Sore with all the road running.

| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| Afternoon run.
Ran great north walk via pipeline to Fidden's Wharf return except back via stair climb. Solid run. Legs still jelly, struggling to recover. Getting scared of the lizards. We have a pair of big black yellow tailed cockatoos as local residents too. Really cool.
| C • Cockatoos rule! Hope your hous... 1 | ||

| Run hills 20:00 [5] | ||
| shoes: Nike flats | ||
| Cracker hill session with the Stingers. New hill, naming it Brokeback. (up road on ridge on north side Lane Cove river just upstream from weir)
6 hills, jog back recovery. No watch but think all between 2'20-2'22 Andy set the pace ahead, Ezy put in a cracker of a session completing 6. The Preston boys going through a bit of a lull (before the storm)

Run from Carlingford shops home. Trying to keep HR under 140, but couple of steep hills got it over. Was an easy recovery run, and with the force-feeding of insect protein there should be plenty of recovery going on.
Sunday Nov 19 | ||
| Cycling 1:06:00 [3] | ||
| (sick) | ||
| Was heading out for a long ride, or so I tell myself. But a bit out past Hornsby Westfield my front derailleur cable snapped. So turned around and limped the bike home. Guess I wasn't that disappointed. | ||
| C • big ring 20 | ||
| Run 51:00 [3] | ||
| (sick) shoes: New Balance 872 OR | ||
| Was a slow, but felt solid run just to get some more training in. A bit after lunch so it was a bit of a killer hot run. Tired though.
A-League: Sydney FC 2 beat Adelaide United 1 The scoreline tells you what I am going to say. It was shit. What made it really shit though is that the ref had a cough or something and kept blowing his whistle (presumably by mistake) every few seconds. To make up for it he kept holding a yellow card up as if to call for a doctor or something. Optometrist may have been good. Scrappy game, bit of fighting, and a few that obviously look up to the guy Zinedine Zidane KO'd and were practising their flops.

Actually first time I have been there. So awesome, cant believe I havent seen them before. Had an awesome run from te town down the falls and around a few lookouts... apart from having to crawl on a few paths to ensure I wouldnt trip and fall down the rather large cliffs. Woth John T.

| U2 Concert
Can't not comment. It was awesome. After 2 days of listening to med students crap on about polymorphisms, viral vectors and acronyms of enzymes/genes I have never heard of, and academics crap on about research objectives, journal impact factors and grants (ie how its about research that makes money - not good research) the concert was a refreshing change. One of those moments in your life you just want to keep going although in hindsight you realise that would lessen the experience anyway. I was truly in awe of Bono and the power that he portrayed on stage, and created in the crowd. Telstra stadium was seriously bouncing. Not quite a life changing overwhelmed with goosebumps experience, but pretty bloody close.

Quite a cool run. Decided to ditch some conference seminars for a long run. Started a little slow and felt a bit tired but felt better and better as I went on. Until the last 20min crawl that is. Ran some cool tracks along the escarpment north of leura until I hit a spot just north of Leura Cascades and then dropped down into the valley. Knew it was going to be a tough climb out but figured it would be good for me. Nice run. Need to get up here for a big training weekend again some time. Max EPOC: Training Effect:

Hill intervals with Stingers group (Andy, Phoebe, Jose and Josephine - Swede) Sydney Parks, so the usual, up one side then the other. We did 12, 6 each side. Good session for first half but then just couldnt keep going at same intensity and slowed a little. Andy powered on. He is in good shape! Finished last few quite strong, and hurt so much I couldnt talk for quite a bit. Really tough session. Max EPOC: Training Effect:

Between (not including) concrete path and DeBurgh's Bridge have found 6 Lane Cove river corssings. Ran both sides of the creek the whole way although it gets a little messy in parts. Found myself doing a Robbie and clearing tracks up. Think my shoes are gone.

Ouch, this hurt. Started hard, and just didnt let up. Quite a bit of road running just meant it was faster and hurt more. Out foxed Robbie by using the traffic light timed stops to be credited with more time credits than him to claim 3rd overall. Should have won really tho, was with the winner (with more time credits) Andy at the last control. Hit the wall tho and then Robbie and Mounty ran over some uncrossable fences for a shortcut. It doesnt really matter in terms of this race, but the whole uncrossable fences thing bugs me. I dont know whether crossing an uncrossable fence is against the rules, but if not it should be. Uncrossable fences are there because either: the course-setter doesnt want people to go that way, they are generally accepted as just being physically uncrossable, attempts are putting yourself and therefore the organisers at risk, or the owners of the land dont want you to cross them. Morning run with Robbie - tick loop. Felt better as I went on, until I got home that is. Initially found a little tick on my stomach which wasnt too bad. couple of hours later I found this huge thing feeding on me. Efforts to take it off sent shooting pains down through my foot. A day later, there is a quite sensitive lump still and it feels like a very mild case of plantar facitis. weird, and not particularly pleasant. Max EPOC: 121 Training Effect: 4.8
