Orienteering 42:00 [2]***

mainly coaching and picking up controls on Macquarie Park. Was pretty hot and really wasnt into it much. Really wanted a day of lying on the couch.

Saturday Mar 25

Adventure Race race (Citychase) 2:21:00 [4]*
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
www.citychase.com
Andy Hill and I won in about 2'20. We ran really hard and I felt great all day, had Andy trailing the whole way. Race in the style of the Amazing race, we used a couple of trains and ran the rest. even did 5 min hard cycling at one checkpoint. The win gives us a free trip to the world titles somewhere (probably North America) in October. And a 1 in 10 chance to win a $80,000 Volvo each. Was really quite a fun race. changed time to length of time we took, although werent running the whole time

Friday Mar 24

Run 51:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
still tired from yesterday. spent all day out at the Commonwealth Games mountain bike course, in the heat. Then a late plane back to Sydney.

Thursday Mar 23

Run 49:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
out at Commi Games MTB circuit. Met up with Clare Hawthorne who absolutely hammered for about half an hour until she hit the wall. Pretty solid run. Recovered from last night with Jamie Potter pretty well :) Kerrin was a different story
C • What's Clare training for? 4

Wednesday Mar 22

Note
no run today. spent the whole day at the Commonwealth Games

Tuesday Mar 21

Run warm up/down 16:00 [2]
shoes: Nike X-terra
Orienteering 31:00 [3]*** 4.9 km (6:20 / km) +132m 5:35 / km
ahr:142 max:163 shoes: Nike X-terra
ran part of a course on Diamond Hill (is that the name?) from Jimbos house in Bendigo. Thought I would go up to Bendigo just to re-familiarise myself with their terrain before Easter
Orienteering 16:00 [4]**** 3.31 km (4:50 / km) +29m 4:38 / km
ahr:169 max:183 spiked:15/16c shoes: Nike X-terra
Ran a sprint course that Jim had set on the area just to the north of where the Easter prologue will be. Ran quite hard and ran well. Very minimal mistakes in quite a complex little gold-mining area. Just need to repeat the same in a few weeks. Jimbo shadowed.

Monday Mar 20

Run 1:26:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
run along the Yarra, when we eventually found it from Ivanhoe. Got to Pujabah for the view. Kerrin decided to pick the pace up and hammer at the end.

Sunday Mar 19

Run long 1:56:00 [3]
from Dents in Terrigal to pick up the car (after Phoebe and Jose wedding the night before) plus a bit. Parts quite boring on the road. Ran through a few national parks though. By self since everyone else was too hungover.

Saturday Mar 18

Run intervals 1:12:00 [5]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
Dont really want to post this session as its really embarrassing. Dont know why we ran so slow, I felt ok although not great. First time I've run on this track tho, a grass track, not the best but ok. So here goes:
5x 1km on 5 minutes. actually I dont exactly remeber the times, but it went something like
3'20, 3'25, 3'27, 3'33, 3'30
Kerrin was a reasonable way behind on all efforts.

Friday Mar 17

Run 35:00 [1]
shoes: Nike flats

Thursday Mar 16

Run 1:09:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
felt bit tired but feel like i am running pretty well.

Wednesday Mar 15

Run 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
Fairy land loop with "NSW Stinger" Robbie. We dont know how long it was, im just copying his entry. i remember i felt crap and tired tho
Summer Series race 47:00 [4]** 9.95 km (4:43 / km) +264m 4:10 / km
ahr:166 max:179 shoes: Nike X-terra
GPS. Ran really hard and felt good. pity i cant orienteer and the map completely disintegrated so i had to half guess where some of the controls were. cleared course but over 5 min late. then jogged over spur to east of mosman for a swim
Run warm up/down 26:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

Tuesday Mar 14

Sunday Mar 12

Orienteering race (NOL Long) 1:35:00 [5]****
spiked:16/20c slept:3.0 shoes: Nike X-terra
NOL Long, shortened. Ran ok, a couple small mistakes but on the whole much happier with how i orienteered. didnt ever feel rushed. but I am a complete wanker! was very hungover and therefore ran really shit. not too embarassing over first 35min or so but then hit the wall and was losing big chunks of times to big guys on each split. considered, i think i ran ok, its just im a dickhead. i ran 88'29, winner Jules ~70'30.
Run 36:00 [1]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite
just went for an easy run, partly to cool-down, partly to punish myself

Saturday Mar 11

Event: AUS NOL races 1-3

Orienteering race (NOL Sprint) 41:00 [5]****
spiked:13/15c shoes: Nike X-terra
NOL Race - sprint. felt good and ran pretty clean, couple small mistakes, 5sec and maybe 10-15sec and a route choice error - over rocky ground instead of around. 12'32, winner Jules 10'55. Bit disappointed though cos I wasnt very fast, Kez took 3-5sec out of me almost every split, even Robbie said he was catching me. Not sure why i wasnt faster.
Orienteering race (NOL Middle) 48:00 [5]***** 5.75 km (8:21 / km) +270m 6:46 / km
ahr:171 max:178 spiked:10/19c slept:8.0 shoes: Nike X-terra
NOL middle. bloody awful run. i ran 39'35. winner Jules ~28'30. tried to run too fast after being diasppointed with mornings run. never really looked at map enough. 5-6 1-2min mistakes and some smaller ones. first 3 controls fine tho. started to tire towards the end and it was extremely hot!
