Nth Strathfield to Lindfield (pick up Prong) to Hornsby to Bobbin Head to Akuna Bay to Northern Beaches to Lindfield (drop off Prong) to Nth Strathfield. Epic, and I'm stuffed. Had to get pizza delivered, despite it being a 5 min walk away. Oh, found a cafe with awesome sticky date pudding, where was it Prong? | ||

Sat down at a table for breakfast with some older boys. Had trouble involving myself in the conversation about whats in your private jet (seriously!). Good experience, chatted to some nice guys, AGM was succinct and interesting. Presentation of Beijing Olympics update was pretty interesting, as was awardee Bob Ellicott's (minister for sport during Malcolm Fraser government and establisher of AIS) speech. Some of the AOC programs gave me some good ideas for orienteering. Need to look in to them more though. | ||

Was a who's who of Australian Winter sport. Lots of big names there. The Aussie Olympic suits are really cool. Fitted pin-stripe design. Might check out ebay. No time to train today, was a long day. | ||

Killed it, feeling pretty good and ran a scorcher leg. Ran first part was on Great Nosh course, up to Roseville Bridge than ran on roads til turn around. But half and half bush tracks and roads. Pretty much ran even splits. Might be actually getting fit. and this whole eating more is a treat, feel much better. | ||

| Paddled some kayak - mirage (?) double kayak with Damon. Also with Robbie and Prong who were supposedly in a faster kayak but they went the same pace. Went from the spit bridge all the way up middle harbour.
It really hurt, and I'm going to be sore for a while. Left forearm kills. Yes you all read it right... I went kayaking. Canberra ACTAS softies can think of it as gym session or cross-training, are they the vogue words? I can never keep up. | ||

| Chasing start, started 4th. 3 min behind Dave, 1.5min behind Prong, 30s behind Robbie. Decided to try to start hard, stop pussing footing around like qualifier. Caught Robbie quite early, and we caught Prong around half-way. I just physically had nothing though, so we all finished together but I lacked motivation to finish hard when so tired, so ended in 4th still, in a tight finish for 2nd. Ran min quicker than Dave, and obviously 30s faster than Robbie. No real mistakes, but not hard in a pack either. Didnt take the lead, and actively tried to rest on a couple of legs as was so tired | ||

Anyway, I was still second in our challenge and our club won. Felt pretty tired in second half, not much strength there. | ||

started our 7 weeks of Jukola training. Aim is to run tempo for the same length as the different legs of Jukola. As it was week one, had to do 70min tempo - as for leg 1 Jukola. Did 75 though, not because I think I'm going to be 5 min behind! but the loop length worked out that way - 6 laps of Lane Cove weir loop. | ||
