| Adventure Race race (AROC Narrabeen) 3:27:00 [3]** 27.7 mi (7:29 / mi) | ||

| AROC with Glenn and Mace
We had a really clean race by all accounts. Flirted with disaster trying to go down the wrong track for a short while, but Glenn took it to a new level trying to ride without a crank. Luckily it was right near the end. We came roughly 7th, 3rd mixed team. just behind 2nd mixed team. we were just a bit outclassed on the kayak, and on the miles of single track (fun, but not our strength). well done Stingers male team, won again. Stingers even got a mention in the Sun-Herald today, S section about 3 pages in. Check it out!

Fun run, through some of Lane Cove NP. Pretty initimidating though, so many run options, never had this many, I'm going to go crazy deciding which way to run every day.

Ran the whole race with Team Edmonton with Canada to win. The race included a scavenger hunt firsty to Soldier Field (home of the Bears), Fort Dearborn, make a pizza at Pizzeria Uno, Water Tower, Navy Pier then we had to find keys in the sand and then Ben had to swim in the freezing Lake Michigan, caught a train to Hubbard Woods Park after losing 1 hour going the wrong direction [to a black ghetto!], I did a trapeze jump (luckily nailed it first go), followed by a 25km bike ride back into town then a train ride out to Harvey [another black ghetto, one of poorest in US!] where we did landscaping for charity house, then a train ride back into town for an SAT exam (last place gets kicked out), another train to town for a pizza eating comp (this was 10 hours into the race and we had only had a chocolate bar up until now), we were allowed no food or money during the race so we had to beg to get any food or train tickets, after did a walking tour of chicago architecture, then EPSN centre for arcade games, then went tenpin bowling till 800 points (our highest score was 168), then a run and train to a golf course where we got about an hour sleep in the freezing cold at about 3am. Up at 4am for four holes of night golf, then a train to Rosemont for 22km of canoeing, then a run around Brookfield Zoo, followed by a suprise drive out to a SKYDIVING centre. We had to jump from 14,000 feet or be disqualified. This included a 60 second freefall of 9,000 feet. That is more than 3km falling in a minute i think!!! I was first of the plane and it was the scariest thing I've done and will never do it again (but at least I can say now I've done it). After this was the last checkpoint, we were still with Team Edmonton and completed a photo course around downtown Chicago then a run to some places till the finish line. We tied with Edmonton but they gave us the official WORLD CHAMPION title (those guys are legends). They got the 2 volvo cars. We got a free trip to any race next year which includes Canada, Lisbon, Paris, Singapore............. we ran quite a bit, but were probably only actively exercising for a bit less than half the time eventually there should be more details at: http://www.bellcitychase.com/championships.asp?nav...
