Monday Dec 31

Orienteering race (X-mas 5 Days) 49:00 [5]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR
Day 5. Pulled up a little muscle sore, and achilles a little grumpy with recen activity. But ankle feeling good so decided to run again.

Pushed hard, and caught Kez by 4th control, then more or less ran with him, trying to hangon but the pace (even though it wasnt that high) was too high for me and with 4 controls to go I was losing it enough that I made a costly error. Dropped almost 3min to Kez over last 4 controls and ended up with a bit of a disappointing results after a decent start.
Note
went to Mariners - Victory game in Gosford, was great. But after I was hobbling on the ankle, impingement in the front.

Obviously overcooked it. 10 days til I see the Ortho

Sunday Dec 30

Orienteering race (X-mas 5 Days) 40:00 [5]***
Ran day 4 again on Newcastle Uni map.

Fun race, though better use of area could have been made. But it was quite fun, and I pushed hard. Really tough as not fit to run hard, and the impact hurt by the end too.

time includes cool-down and warm-up
Cycling 1:52:00 [3]55 km (2:02 / km)
Ride around part of the lake mac. (Marks Point to Rathmines and back) Was hoping to paddle with Robbie but he had already been and wasnt home. So rode the extra to Rathmines, and I was feeling pretty good.

Afterwards I felt the effort, and heat and was pretty wrecked.

Saturday Dec 29

Cycling 1:58:00 [3]62 km (1:54 / km)
Ride out to event again, same place, same ride except rode from Marks Point where we were staying, so extra bit was around the lake.

Friday Dec 28

Cycling 1:25:00 [3]42 km (2:01 / km)
Rode out to event from Prestons house. Nice ride, quite enjoyed it. Pleased to keep pace quite high the whole way.

Thursday Dec 27

Orienteering race (X-mas 5 Days) 48:00 [4]***
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline ASR
Started really just to get the map and have a jog. But there were lots of tracks early i could run along and then felt good so I just ran the course. Jogged it really, few small mistakes but no real problems. Ankle good.

Tuesday Dec 25

Run 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Trance
Run with Kez along Port Mac Foreshore and harbour. Ankle has been feeling quite good for a few days now so wanted to try it out. It kept really good and felt like running a solid pace just because i havent run in so long. clearly lost fitness though.

Monday Dec 24

Swimming 30:00 [3]1.2 km (25:00 / km)
1.2 k today in Port Mac pool.

included 3 x 200m and 2 x 50m.

Friday Dec 21

Note
how great are all the new temperature and rainfall maps on the bom website! e.g.:
http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/silo/rain_maps.cgi?m...

wouldnt it be great though if you could get to maps next to each other for comparison e.g. this month rainfall for sydney versus this month last year.

Monday Dec 17

Swimming 24:00 [3]1.1 km (21:49 / km)
Same as last week, but swam an extra 100m at the end.

Felt much better technically (as reflected in times) but long way to go.

6x100m on 3min
fastest 1'57, slowest 2'01

Saturday Dec 15

Cycling 1:02:00 [3]
MTBing with Robbie from Belanglo Hut.

Some nice fire trail, lot of shitty fire trail (rocks/sand) and a teeny bit of single track

Friday Dec 14

Cycling (commute) 1:12:00 [3]36 km (2:00 / km)
Commute to uni and back. Felt like I haven't done anything for 2 weeks... I haven't.

Thought ankle wouldnt mind cycling but it ached all day. Probably manageable if not working and can ice and keep off it more.

Wednesday Dec 12

Note
Saw physio (martin krause - who I booked almost 2 weeks ago, i went to the b grade physio in frustration as i couldnt even walk at that point)

reckons its Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. I'm having an MRI tomorrow morning anyway.

Monday Dec 10

Swimming 26:00 [3]1 km (26:00 / km)
With Mace in Mac Uni pool, lost property googles are crap

First lap swimming in... well ever almost (I did about 3 sessions when i was 8 and hated it so stopped going)

Did 6 x 100m efforts. Times between 2:05 and 2:15, on 3 minutes. didnt set any records i dont think.

Friday Dec 7

Note
Went to a very B - grade physio. What a waste.
C • Go to a good Physio 4

Wednesday Dec 5

Note
Hamstring - left

It might still be sore, I don't know. Ankle hurts so much I can't tell.

Ankle - left

Well I can barely walk. I don't know what brought this on at all, other than its been fucked since 2001. But it has swollen and feels like an impingement at the front problem. When I poke around the bone feels like it is sore around the medial side as well. I have to walk by going on the outside of heel/foot. Can't walk normally, its painful. Pretty shattered. Usual case of sports care, am booked in to see a good physio but it was over a week away when I booked it cos thats the earliest they can do.

Monday Dec 3

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]
Commute to work and home. Was a bit longer on way home due to Phil riding to meet Izzy. I didn't wait though as the big storm was coming in. got soaked, and ended up with my Sth African mate again.

Left ankle is getting worse and worse.

Hamstring a little tender but ok
