| another great day of orienteering, but i just wasnt up to it physically today - no surprises there.
had quite a good run really, perhaps a bit sloppy but no real mistakes until right near the end. lost about 4 min on 23 - the control the whole field seemed to have problems on. it was a bit dodgy, but my navigation was way dodgier and I only have myself to blame. had caught david brownridge towards the end of the gold mining but was really hurting trying to keep with him in the spur/gully. was on the edge and its not surprising i came unstuck. certainly not fit enough for this type of race. bit annoyed with mistake, but all in all considering training, im pretty happy with it. whats more, we kicked the vics again. | What an awesome race. So intense, dont think ive felt so under the pump from the course planner before.
Lost a little time at the start, one was a bad route choice (10s) and the other got lost mid-leg (30s) but otherwise a good run. felt like i was reading everything quite well. damn the fitness and not being able to run quicker. 5th was a good result, and we beat the VICs Max EPOC: 127 Training: 3.5 | ||

| Another cracker race, on Petticoat Gully. so complex, so fun!
Had a pretty good run although a shaky start losing time on 1st control (15s) and 5th (40s). Otherwise pushed hard and kept it together really well. felt like i was orienteering very well. again just couldnt run harder cos im fat. 5th was a great result, pretty happy. we absolultely annhilated the Nuggets this avo. Rode 9'39 up BBHead. Pushed hard but that time is not setting the world alight, not even the burnt out area surrounding it. Noticed I couldn't get my HR over about 167 despite the effort. Must be pretty tired or something. | ||
