| MTB - Robbies Jamis hardtail
Not a overly tiring ride, mainly cos it was too technical for me in alot of parts as well as riding in a big group. I spent the first half of the ride adjusting the SPD pedals so that I could actually get out of them. that also translated to a lot of bruises on the hips. Even got to go over the handlebars. Would have enjoyed it more if I actually had some skill as it was a pretty technical ride. Looking back though it seems like it was fun. Main training adaptation will be recovering from bruising, scratches and whole branches stuck in my arm. Amazed how good I felt on little food and such a long ride. Was great getting out with some of the Geo guys and gals. Max EPOC: 36 Training: 2.1

| Kayaking 3:00:00 [3]29.5 km (6:06 / km) | ||
| Kayak from Lane Cove to Roseville bridge. Was really fun going under the bridge. Cracker day, think I'm getting stronger in the paddle, bt it was certainly awesome having a Provan outboard in the back. We even got to surf some waves despite being in the mirage and not heading into a beach. Like really surf, it was fun. | ||

| Heat - had a pretty good run, quite happy with orienteering still, but physically felt drained after the morning paddle. 40ish sec down on Robbie which can almost all be accounted for by Robbie going through the out of bounds.

| Final - chasing start
Had a really good race, got some glimpses on Robbie and knew I was gaining on him although not enough to catch him. Had the pressure of Jock starting 19sec behind. Kept it really clean through all the technical section but Jock inevitable caught me by running those slightly straighter lines at the last control. At the second last it looked like Robbie had missed the last one (as in he just ran to the finish) so I figured we were running for the win. despite this, I'm embarrassed to say Jock outsprinted me. But I did end up 2nd, and everyone beat Robbie. Looks like our AR team will kick their arse cos robbie cant navigate. Max EPOC: 103 Training: 3.2

| Bobbin Head - Mt Colah loop
Pretty solid ride today, faster than normal. Felt quite strong on the bike. 8'56 up BB head which is the fastest I've done in a while. Used up a life today. In traffic on BBHead Rd I hit a pot hole at around 45k's. Pedal slipped out and hands went over handle bars. Somehow stayed up and balanced whilst hanging over the front. left hand was slowed by the brake cables and then I became aware of the burning sensation in my finger. Then noticed by wedding ring finger was sitting on the tyre. decided it was better my finger not stay there and somehow manged to get hands back on the handlebars. Slowed down and pulled over. I don't think the old woman who was right on my arse had any idea what just happened. Max EPOC: 128 Training: 3.4

been a pretty shit week of training, in part cos I've been a bit tired but also been really busy at uni.

| Note | ||
| Bit depressed today. Saw Brucie got the rankings up for the WOC trials. My points are shit, under 1000. I reckon I had two of the best runs ive had in the last couple of years, I know I'm not fit but I still think they are better than other runs.
Rankings seems so unrepresentative of the quality of a run to me. I guess these are low because the top runners (GB, TdH, RW, JD, DS) weren't there, but its just shit. congrats reuby!!! bout time you came home for a race?

| Paddle in Middle Harbour (mainly upstream) with Prong in the Red7. Funny, got to appreciate a bit more how stable Robbie keeps it. Mind you we didnt fall out or anything.

| After not being able to crap for over 2 days, it was good to finally get a couple out.
funny how you try and eat lots for energy over a weekend and it backfires (or not) on you
