This was meh. Had a bit of a rough night. Spent most of the night feeling very anxious and really had a hard time finding sleep. I thought 4am was too early to start getting ready so I waited until 4:45 and ended up getting to practice 45mins early. Started the circuit and I was in my own little trans. Got in the work but I was so zoned out and not myself. The best part of today was my strides which felt fast and strong.

Nice solo run from the house after work. Checked out some new trails Paige told me about lol. I've lived in this house since 1997 and it took someone who was born in 1999 to notify me almost 20 years later that I have some awesome trails less than 1k away from my house. I really need to start exploring more lol.

Great tempo workout today! Extra challenging with the heaviness in the legs today but that's what is going to make me better! Played with that line and focused on trying to relax and move efficiently:) out of control a couple of times when I realized I was trying to stick with others but adjusted and came back. The legs are feeling it!

Great long run today with the girls at training camp! In prior years the legs usually feel like they've been hit by a train for this run but they felt decent today and I went much longer than I've ever gone here. Made it past Pearl! Nice to have Bekk's and Hailee to run back with as well. My legs were feeling it as soon as I stopped. I'm a mileage hog now!

Great morning today! Felt like a caged animal going in and ended up going out pretty fast! I'm used to it being a struggle from the start but honestly today I didn't feel it get hard until the bottom of the figure 8. That was when I started to feel I needed to work and that's when Bekk's caught up to me and gained some distance on me fairly quickly. I snapped out of it and told myself that I couldn't dwell on the fact that it no longer felt easy and I needed to push if I wanted to improve. I pushed a good amount but not the most i ever had. The last part of the race was a bit of a shock to my legs again. I did find a kick in the last straight so it must have been a mental thing as well. Take away from today is that I discovered I'm the fittest I've ever been for this time of year but that I'm craving more practice with racing and dealing with the hardest part of the race...which for me is at about 65-85% of the way through. Big jump from last year :)

Nice barefoot on the turf. Was hard to hold myself back and not go fast as the legs are feeling really good having had their first day off yesterday in weeks. Excited for tomorrow!
