spiked:15/16c shoes: Brooks GTS 13

Rome Urban Race (easy but one tricky section)
Lost 50 seconds on the steps on Capitol - idiot as knew the route but thought had taken the wrong one so ran halfway up, back down and then up again

25 sec on last but one control as had folded last control off map and ran past this one as it didn't look like the finish control!

3rd place.

4th overall.

Race 42:25 [5] *** 4.91 km (8:38 / km)
spiked:14/15c shoes: Mudroc 290

Villa Ada, 7th place.

Tricky as small paths in green meant had to keep running speed at pace to read the map as relocation very difficult.

Lost 45 sec on long leg to 6 when hit path and not sure where I was (even though I sort of recognised it from route to number 2)

25sec as didn't see control 8 on rootstock - not looking around as map showed it 10m away from path and it was next to it and hidden in the roots.

50sec at building after punching control 12 as could not make path fit even though I checked compass so faffed onto other path which was wrong and then went back again.

Missed 1 control and 2 errors on routes. Also v slow descending horrible bank between 13-14.

Villa Borghese - day/night sprint - 4th

Mass start. Arrived at number 1 first much to my amazement (cut corner out of start when everyone else went straight on). Ran my butterflies entirely on my own. 3 leaders arrived back at central point 50m before me.

Lost 30sec en route to number 21 when transposed myself on map after looking at last 2 control codes - no loose control desc so had to unfold map to read them.

Very intense.
