Running 1:00:00 [3] 6.5 km (9:14 / km)

Trail run in the woods with 3 hills (Sassafras, Mac and Aviary) x 3 repeats with 60 seconds in between. On the third repeat I would continue along the trail/loop and then run to the next hill. Felt ok for first good run in a few weeks!

Map Reading 15:00 [0]

Looked at several world of o maps - on the long route choices the trails always look safe and tempting but definitely not always the fastest. Need to remember to look and evaluate all the options and to use the trails in the best situations!

Note

Hello! I am back from my travels in Zambia/South Africa and after over 20 hours of travel time I am sure glad to be back home! The trip was fantastic with lots of new and rewarding experiences. The weather was around 30-35 degrees every day and dropping in temperature at night during the second week while we were there. As far as training I will try and add specifics in my log soon as I couldn't do it at the time because internet was very unreliable/non-existent! I was able to get for one short run and do some core as well as map reading. We did some walking each day, played soccer, got to climb a 40m completely vertical ladder to watch a sunset, and do a mini stair workout exploring South African caves.. couldn't do as much training as I would have liked but was soaking up the experiences, will get back to it soon!
