Running 10:00 [3]

Roughly ten minutes worth of hill intervals while tobogganing! Tons of fun on this beauty snow day and put in a bit of training running up the hills after going down - not as fast in snow pants and carrying a toboggan but oh well!

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Picking up controls 6 and 8 with Emma - map memory!

Orienteering 36:00 [3] 5.8 km (6:12 / km)

Last X-League race of the season up at Chedoke - lots of snow which made it a little more challenging but good course, forced decisions at the end as I went with being over time for picking up another 125 points, I think it was worth it but always good training making those decisions on the run! No real navigation problems except for a large group of us couldn't find #4, we thought it was in the wrong place but apparently it was there and we missed it but aside from it felt good! Definitely felt a lot stronger on the roads then when running across the fields though..

Cycling (indoor ) 30:00 [1]

Nasty storm out there tonight so no tnt - went for a consistent, higher power ride with a couple of 1 min intervals thrown in.

Core 10:00 [1]

Trying to make core a more regular part of my training this month - I'm liking the 5 exercises for 1 min each x 2 but will try some other workouts later on I'm sure!

Yoga/Stretching 10:00 [0]

Youtube yoga sessions are back!

Soccer (indoor) 20:00 [2]

Solid win - last regular season game, playoffs start on thursday!

Core 10:00 [1]

Similar stuff to last time, subbed in inverted bridge thing and leg lifts for tricep dips and plank.

1 min/exercise

Cycling 2:03:00 [2] 31.5 km (3:54 / km)

Ride along the rail trail with Emma (and others kind of) out to Copetown and back - very muddy and windy but lots of fun! It felt pretty slow getting out there but on the way back with the wind behind us and it being slightly downhill made it a lot faster.

Cycling 40:00 [1]

Easy ride, tried to keep a moderate pace on higher resistance throughout. Quads were still a bit sore today but didn't really notice on ride.

Core 10:00 [1]

1 min each:
- plank
- rowers crunches/side to side
- squats
- tricep dips
- Russian twists with 5 lbs weight
x2

Yoga/Stretching 5:00 [0]

Note
(rest day)

My quads were pretty sore today so taking it off, went for a walk in the woods to assess the trails and they were a little icy today and muddy out towards Sassafrass but looks like they are only going to get worse as the weather warms up in the next couple of days!

Hockey 20:00 [4]

Great game vs Westmount, they will be some tough competition this season - tied 2-2 after a lead in the second and then they were able to get back a goal in the third... we out on some good pressure in the 3rd though and i just missed a goal again with it going off the back of a defenders leg...annoying!
My legs don't feel that bad after a game but I feel pressure in my lungs for a little while after, I don't know if pressure is the right word but its definitely good cardio work!

Running 20:00 [1]

Warm up and cool down along the chedoke radial trail, icy slush conditions..

Running 35:00 [3]

TNT - GPS wouldn't load but 5 "poison ivy" loops/circuits... basically three hills with varying steepness with the group (all 3 of us!) turning around when the first person reached the top then a downhill, and onto the next hills - continuous loops.
Definitely felt it in my legs running up hill in very squishy conditions, hip flexors were a bit sore as well but kept trying to push it and close or maintain the gap between me and Christian throughout the workout. Found the last gradual hill the most challenging so tried to focus on using my arms.

Yoga/Stretching 5:00 [0]

the butterfly stretch sure felt good!
