Nice run exploring Victoria! A very different feel from Vancouver... a lot quieter. At my Aunt and Uncle's place here for Thanksgiving and I am very excited for turkey and pies tomorrow! In prep for the dinner I figured I should run some more... bad training week because of several late nights working on group projects and a few tests. Hopefully I can fit some sessions in next week...

Orienteering 2:21:19 [3]

BCOC - this was definitely a long! Pia, Emma and I all ran 21e to get the extra training in and in such a cool map as black magic I definitely appreciated running up a course! For the most part I was quite happy with my navigation I was focused and chose decent route choices but still had a few bobbles on the first map and then just wasn't moving particularly fast through the vegetation... very different from the Dundas valley! it was so beautiful with all the moss and rocks - super cool. I determined that everything is very green out here... both on and off the map! What was frustrating about this race though was the second half which was on the lost lake map with lots of trails. Most of the controls here were just trail route choices and a lot of trail running... I felt super slow with my decision making though at this point of the race and was stopping at almost every trail junction to confirm which way I was going. I also lost a lot of time leaving the controls trying to decide between two or theee different routes which were really just trails that would sometimes come together in the end... lack of focus and quick decision making lost me quite a bit of time but I never had any real mistakes second half so that's good at least! Overall a great experience and stunning terrain! Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers for a great weekend :)

Trail running warm up/down 25:00 [1]

Warm up hike/ jog to the start took about 45 minutes uphill with some beauty views! Ran a bit at the beginning and then some of the steeper climbs had the blood pumping as well.. did a bit of stretching and stuff at the top as well.
