Biking race (Gravel) 7:03:08 [5] 100.0 mi (4:14 / mi) +3383ft 4:06 / mi
shoes: Cannondale Tandem 29er

First "century" on a bike. I'll admit, it hurt....... a lot. Mainly my quads, but my rear wasn't feeling too good either. There were two checkpoints where we took a bathroom break, shed unnecessary layers, and refilled water bottles. Stopped a few other times to stretch our legs, etc. that really helped a lot. Nutrition went really well. Ensure (4 total), bacon (oh ya!), 1 GU w/caffeine, fig newtons. Probably could have used an extra GU toward the end.

Are we going to be ready for the DK200? Who knows...... but at least we'll try :)

Out to Peach Mtn again for some o-course practice with Michelle. My GPS couldn't locate satellites for some reason until about a mile in so taking approximate time and distance from Michelle.

Biking (Paved and gravel) 29:51 [3] 6.1 mi (4:54 / mi) +236ft 4:43 / mi
shoes: Cannondale Tandem 29er

Quick spin on the tandem to drop off a backpack full of old tennis balls at the Olsen Park dog park. Thought we might be able to get the tandem through the entire single track course there but struggled due to how deep the trail is dug into the ground. Kept clipping my peddles on the sides of the trail in too many places so decided to bail. The places where the trail was wider were a lot of fun. Wouldn't mind trying it out at Island Lake.
