Norwegian Junior Relay. 1st leg - 2nd team - 6th overall!!! Successful!!!

Apparently I'm in alright shape.... What?

Middle distance on some epic terrain. Really cool.

It's on the same terrain as junior relay tomorrow so while the other guys were racing it (part of the Norwegian cup series) I was just getting a feel for the terrain and trying to stay as fresh as possible.

Still a decent enough result despite the slow pace. One small mistake and one big one (maybe 2mins lost in total).

Everyone kept saying how similar the terrain is to Scotland (personally I'm not so convinced - maybe more the lakes).

1st leg for Halden SK 2 tomorrow. We've got some pretty strong teams!

(WU/WD included in total time - ran for about 30 mins O but I'm lazy)

Just reminding myself I can't night orienteer. Survived the night which was the main aim.

Landed in Norway at 8, racing at 9:08 I think I nailed my timings.

NM natt champs.

Big mistakes all around but my plan was to take it relatively easy so that's okay.

Junior relay is my real goal - I'll be off on Sunday, 1st leg, Halden 2.
Saturday is a preparation race on the same terrain so will be taken very easy!

Up and around the lower crag path then curved around to the top round about near pollock. Did 4x3x100m [2min] [40s]. Jogged back same route. It was pretty dark and I didn't have a headtorch but it all just adds some thrill.

Recoveries included in time.
