Note
(rest day)

Pretty knackered- back at it from tomorrow!
Will get into a routine again. I’ve been lacking consistency.

Running race 35:38 intensity: (1:33 @1) + (13:25 @2) + (5:04 @3) + (11:52 @4) + (3:44 @5) 9.99 km (3:34 / km) +127m 3:21 / km

Started off quite nice and comfy, avoiding the carnage out to one of the sides - some boy hit the side tapes and dragged a stake out the ground sending it flying accords the course but just about avoided that and then suddenly my shoe was half off my foot - some boy behind had screwed me over. Damnnn.

Got myself out of the traffic to a side and slipped it back on as quick as possible but for that to happen so early on - genuinely cost me at least 100 places. Went from just ahead of Fred to a bloody long way behind. Stressed out fairly big time and started moving through again - must have overtaken about 50 people but finished the first lap in 110th, 30s down on jack in 50th and 45s behind Freddie in 35th.

Clearly had been putting the burners on for a wee bit to long because my second lap the wheels came off - breathing started to get a bit short, lost motivation big time and just began the grind to the finish from there..... was getting slower and slower and fairly embarrassed about the state of this run.

Something clicked in my head though going onto the last lap - decided enough was enough and managed to start moving through again. Set a target of trying to recatch the 5th places Edinburgh boy about 25s ahead. Thankfully managed to salvage something from the day!

Somedays it just doesn’t go right - glad this ain’t my last BUCS year because one day I’ll get it nailed. Good to see Freddie and Jack up so high - shows what can happen if it goes well!

Running warm up/down 17:40 intensity: (4:30 @1) + (12:42 @2) + (28 @3) 3.23 km (5:28 / km) +38m 5:10 / km

Note
(rest day)

Again, not ill, but not very far away from being ruined. BUCS XC this weekend and once again I turn up in potentially very uninspiring shape... lets see if I can shake this.

easy with Timothy, nice and chatty. Missed intervals tonight as still feeling pretty on edge. Hope my throat clears up before the weekend but a fairly high stress week before then. :o Some strides at the end to try keep some speed in the old leggies.
