1500m at the men’s league.

Started really slow, tactical and windy. I’d decided I wanted to race this rather than go for a time, no looks at the watch allowed. Heard the guy saying 68s through 400m so pretty slow first lap. Was sitting in about 3rd but some Aberdeen boy came along side and started beefing me with his elbows.

Decided I’d had enough of his beef so cut him up and moved out. Received a heafty push in my back for it from him. The push pushed me to the front by accident. Had wanted to sit until right near the end. 700m to go, ah well I’m at the front let’s start winding it up. Kept it controlled but was speeding up - hit the last lap and started pushing fairly hard. Jamie Crowe moved past me pretty quickly at 200 to go and I couldn’t hack his pace. Held off another guy coming up past pretty quickly and got him by 0.3s at the end.

Finished 4:04 officially, a second behind Jamie. According to Garmin timings closed with a naughty 59. Will take that today then, especially considering the slow start. Wonder if I’ll be able to get a fast 15 in before the season closes.
